Reynolds James Web

October 23, 1938 – April 27, 2017

Jim Reynolds, of King City, gently passed on Thursday, April 27th, 20l7, at Mackenzie Health Care Centre, Richmond Hill. Born in Niagara Falls, Jim enjoyed life with his wife, Betty, daughters, Tara (Stephen) and Janice (Dave) and two adored grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jamie. Predeceased by his parents Clara (Reynolds) Stricker and James Reynolds. Dear brother of the late Shirlee Bonokoski, Colleen Booth, Lorraine Sterling, Rae-anne Reynolds. All branches of his family were very important to Jim. Throughout his life Jim maintained lifelong friendships which he treasured to the day he departed. Cottage life with family and friends at Baptiste Lake was sheer joy for him. His last job at Sciex was a culmination of his, life work experience and talents. That was the job he felt he was made for and loved the hard work, people and achievements. There is much sadness at this time but we take heart in our memories of a life well lived.

The family will receive their friends at All Saints Anglican Church, 12935 Keele Street, King City on Thursday, May 4 from 10 o’clock until time of funeral service at 11 o’clock. Private family interment Grove Cemetery, Dundas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of James Reynolds to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, Ralph Gilbert Research Fund, 610 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 2M9 (or phone 416-946-6560; choose option 1). Condolence from Linda McDonald on May 1st, 2017 5:51 pm

I finally met “Mr. Reynolds” this year at Tara’s ## birthday party, however I felt like I knew him for years from all the
stories I heard from his children about his interesting life & career, the cottage stories, and his amazing strength and resilience these last few years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
God Speed Jim.

Condolence from Marla Allan on May 1st, 2017 6:25 pm

I was so pleased to have the opportunity to meet Jim, Betty and Janice in person at Tara’s birthday party. Jim worked so hard to be part of the evening. The warmth and love the family have for each other is so strong; this sadness too will be met with the Reynolds-style strength and grace.
You are in my heart.

Condolence from Rob clarkson on May 1st, 2017 9:44 pm

I grew up with Jim and Betty on lake Baptiste. They are like my aunt and uncle. I will greatly miss him. I’ll always remember so many things we did growing up at the Reynolds cottage and especially taking my son out last summer with Jim and Betty and my parents on the pontoon boat. Cooper, only 3, and Jim had such a laugh.

It was very apparent they loved spending time together. My condolences to your family and I hope you can find happiness in your memories of your dad Tara.

Condolence from Tim Harpell on May 2nd, 2017 6:40 pm

Barbara &Tim Harpell

We are sorry to hear of the loss of Jim.
I got my break when I joined Nuclear Chicago (Searle) . The tone for a company is set at the top and I was lucky to enter an environment created by Jim. It may have helped that I was also from Queen’s. I am sure that Jim has indicated how we engineers live through our years at Queen’s. He took the same devil may care attitude while in business. I thank Jim for setting the example for me to follow in starting my own company.
My God bless you in these difficult times.
