Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Edna Johnston. Loving father of Paul and Betty Johnston, Sheila and David Lewis. Cherished grandpa of Lynnette Johnston and Paul Gray, Karen Lewis and Bernard Tobin, Teresa and Tony Comella, Sabrina and Michael Eels, Ed Lewis and Erin Peck, Pauline and Brian Wilson. Adored Papa to Jonathan, Travis, Alexis, Gloria, Hilary, Jerad, Abigail, Liam, Bridget, Madden, Ryder and Sylvie. Jim is predeceased by his parents Gloria and Roderick Johnston.
Jim will be forever remembered as a hard-working, fun-loving and kind-hearted husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. With Edna by his side for 65 years, they made a life filled with farming, Florida winters, motor home adventures, countless card games, dances and memories made with family. Jim is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Jim’s family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Sunday afternoon 2 – 5. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, November 26 at 11:30 o’clock.
Interment Providence Cemetery, Caledon East.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice or Providence Cemetery, c/o Mr. Grant Sherman, 13595 Torbram Road, Caledon L7C 2T7.

My prayers and thoughts are with all the Johnston family. Jim was a big part of a long standing neighborhood. He will be greatly missed by everyone. I remember as kids, any time we saw him he was always teasing us or joking with us. Lots of fond memories. Thinking of you all.

We want to offer our condolences to you and your family at this time. It is never easy to lose a parent no matter what age we are. We had the pleasure of having a conversation with Jim a few months ago at the Wishbone restaurant when he was there having lunch with Sheila.
He was a very good neighbour of ours for over 30 years and we know he will be missed in the community.
