Peacefully at home, with his family, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, October 11, 2010, Ivan Taylor, Loretto, beloved husband of Shirley Taylor (nee Mercer). Cherished father of Cheryl Stewart and Cal Evely of Orangeville; Blair and Frances Taylor of Lisle. Loving grandfather of Nicole, Bradley, Michael and Kclyn. Dear great grandfather of Leah. Brother-in-law to John and Sharon Hamilton, Ken and Liane Mercer, Cecil (Bee) and Linda Mercer; and predeceased by brother-in-law Gerald & Gloria Mercer. Dear brother of Erwin Taylor, Rayfield and Gail Taylor, Sharon Sheaves.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Wednesday evening 7 – 9 o’clock, Thursday afternoon 2- 4 and evening 7- 9 o’clock.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning, October 15 at 11 o’clock.

Followed by cremation.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, 16th Floor, Toronto M5G 2M9.

Hello, we do not know each other but I am writing to you in regards of the loss of your dear family member, Ivan Taylor. I would like to send my deepest sympathy. It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love and it can be most difficult to bear.

The Bible, however, holds out a wonderful hope. The Scriptures indicate that it is possible to be reunited with your dead loved one in the near future right here on earth – Psalms 37:11. Although this is a time of sadness, I would like to direct you to some encouraging and comforting information that can be shared amongst you and your family.
