Barry,
My deepest sympathy to you and all the family.
Your Mom and I worked together for a long time and had a lot of fun, both at work and doing the legion catering.. She lived a good life and I know she will be up there and Ernie and Bert will be back together again. My thoughts are with you all. Keep your memories close to your heart.
Connie.

Condolence from The Pickett Family on November 22nd, 2014 1:46 pm

Dear Barry and family:

Iola (Granny Ernie) was very special to our family. As you know she was Mom’s best friend and spent a lot of time with our family celebrating many happy occasions and occasionally sad times as well. She treated us and our kids like her own and she was always game for whatever we threw at her. She was the driver and Mom and Gladys were the back -seat drivers no doubt. Iola was not afraid of much and lived an independent life after the loss of your Dad. We always admired her for her “spunk” and her can-do attitude.

Our sincere condolences on the loss of this great lady. She will be missed!

Pat, Tom, Ida, Helen, Theresa and families

Condolence from Donna Gill-Purdy on December 16th, 2014 12:25 pm

To the entire family she loved so much, my sincere sympathy. Iola and I worked together at the Bolton Post office for a few years and I enjoyed her company immensely. She was a lovely lady with a heart of gold.
Each Saturday we worked together she insisted on bringing her trademark egg sandwiches and chocolate milk, ” as a treat ” Nothing else would do.

One particular year we dressed up as Laurel and Hardy for Halloween at the Post office… just of fun.She was a great sport.
An inspiring lady with a kind heart. I will miss sending and receiving her Christmas card this year. Hugs to you all.

Donna Gill-Purdy
