Carter Howard Web

Retired Owner of Pharma Medi Call, Bolton;

Retired Regional Manager of Novartis Pharmaceuticals

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the death of Howard Millar Carter, in his 91st year, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Brampton Civic Hospital. Beloved husband of Caroll for almost 50 years. Proud and loving father of Jason (Lisa), Joshua (deceased), Malcolm (Debbie), Neil (deceased), Donald (deceased) (Marilyn). Howard enjoyed his five grandchildren Joshua, Lia, Colin, Justin, and Cameron. He was thrilled to become a great-grandfather to Madeline and Hudson. Howard will be sorely missed by many, many friends and family members. He was definitely a people person and always looked forward to his morning coffees at the “Liars Club”. He found it amazing that at almost 91, he was still “above ground”.

According to Howard’s wishes cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Caven Presbyterian Church, 110 King Street West, Bolton on Saturday, March 30 from one o’clock until time for memorial service at 2 o’clock.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Caven Presbyterian Church, 110 King Street West, Bolton L7E 1A2 or a charity of your choice.

Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Hello Caroll Jason and Family
How very sad that the maestro of the neighbourhood has passed. Howard will be fondly remembered by all the Caspell’s, Karen, Bob, Scott and Owen. He is part of our collective memory of “remember when” stories. The best neighbourhood organizer we ever had.
So very sorry for your loss.

So sorry Carol and family regarding Howard’s passing. He really was a funny character. The moment he spotted our garage door open he would walk over with a beer in each pocket to check out what Roy was up to. He knew everyone and what was happening in our little corner of Newlove.
Howard will be missed by many.

So sorry for your loss. The neighbourhood won’t be the same without Howard. Howard was the official sidewalk superintendent. If a neighbour was having a project done, Howard was always at the ready to offer his opinion, whether solicited or not. We will miss his unwavering interest. Hopefully you will be able to have time to restore your own well being now. Our condolences to you and your family.

I happened to meet Howard at the Wellness Centre, where we did a few miles of walking, talking but most of all he was a great ambassador for collecting awesome ties from his friends, neighbors and anyone who wished to donate to my quilt piecing…..He made me proud to have been the first one to view my first place quilt…..Carol he was very .proud of YOU, and spoke fondly of your many great Friday nights dinners, also all the dinner party’s , and was truly amazed how you managed to do it all. Howard made quite a impression on many fellow walkers. HE had a unique sense of humour that was appreciated by many . The “liars” Club Members, will sadly his keen wit and good humour.

Condolence from Stewart Blair on March 23rd, 2019 2:24 pm

Caroll & Family
My thoughts and those of all the Blair family are with you all with the passing of Howard. There are a lot of good memories from many years ago in Perth. I greatly appreciated that every year on his visits to Perth, he would take time to come in and spend time with me sharing stories of his years in Perth working with my Dad and Grandfather. In our funeral home Family Centre, we proudly display a poster of our firm’s long history…it includes a photo of Howard assisting my grandfather on a funeral in the early 1950’s.

His passing is the end of a era and one of my special connections to the past. I will miss his warm friendship.

Stewart Blair

A loving and caring man cherished by so many . A true legend in the pharmaceutical world and will be remembered for his ability to have such wonderful discussions about themselves, their families and their interests in the world. First met Howard when he was in sales with Anca Laboritiries in the 1970’s and am truly blessed that we shared a wonderful and lasting friendship for over 50 years. Loved his many stories and most of all his comments on world affairs. Howard will be truly missed by so many who will perhaps also shed a tear of happiness in recognizing this amazing man. God will welcome Howard with open arms and hug him tight for all the good he did in his lifetime.

Condolence from Walter and Wilda Schutz on March 28th, 2019 3:15 pm

Our heartfelt condolences to Caroll and Jason and family about Howard’s passing. He certainly was a fighter till the very end.
As early neighbours and and long time friends, Howard amazed me with his very wide breath of interest and knowledge – and always freely given opinions – just about anything we discussed. Lots of energy, enthusiasm, inquisitiveness and love of life come to mind. There wasn’t a dull moment with Howard near by. We will miss him dearly.
Dear friend, may you rest in peace.

Condolence from Mark Huggins on March 29th, 2019 9:33 pm

Dear Caroll and Jason;
The loss of Howard is a blow to a great many people, but to you in particular.
He was a fascinating man: At once funny, ferocious, determined and hugely supportive. He thrived in the family environment he shared with you: He was truly happily married. He was a very good friend to many of us, who will miss his stirring the pot occasionally. He was a first class “survivor” in life and I stand in awe of that aspect of him. Joan and I had many good laughs in his company.
I’m sure he’s busy now trying to induct St. Peter into the Liars Club.
I hope that the many fond memories of his life, together with the Peace of God, will help you through this tough time.

Condolence from Sandra Webber-Carter on March 30th, 2019 10:27 am

I am certain he is watching over all of you smiling proudly.

To quote my grandmother “look what love did”
