Suddenly and unexpectedly, at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mt. Forest, on Friday, January 6, 2023. Howard Charles Albert Shanks of Holstein in his 89th year. Survived by his children Keith (Bev), Paul (Anne), Janet (Philippe) and families of 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Orville and Bertha Shanks, sister Rita and brother in law Dick. At Howard’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
Arrangements entrusted to the Egan Funeral Home, Bolton (905-857-2213).

We are so very sorry for your loss. wishing you all peace and healing.
Keith, Paul and Janet – so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Keep all the good memories close- it will help with the sadness you feel.
Your father use to contact me every time he came down to Elora for the legion dances, I had not heard from him in a few years. Sorry for your loss. His mother Bertha was my mothers cousin.
My husband and Howard became good friends, accidentally meeting one day at Tim Hortons. And a 5 year friendship was born. He often stopped by our house in the summer for a visit, or just a phone call to see how we were doing! He really missed his little “Tiny”, he talked about him often! We had no idea that he had passed, and we are soo very sorry for your loss. We’re so happy that he had found such happiness in the last few months, you could tell how happy he was. Our sincere sympathy to your families. Howard will be missed.
