I am sad to hear of the passing of Hilton, husband, brother, best friend and grandpa. It has been some time since I have seen him but memories are clear, numerous and full of laughter and smiles. I recall oyster bars in Florida, a lot of oysters and then some more and then a few more, fine wine, beer and of course, coffee challenges – is there a difference, can you detect the decaf! I loved the attention to detail.
He was and will remain a good soul, highly respected and loved by many. My heart aches for you and your families.

We are sad to hear of the passing of Hilton. We always anticipated your return to Florida and being our neighbors. Hilton was always positive in his attitude and I always looked forward to discussions with him.

We are going to miss our very dear friend and neighbour. His community dedication was never ending. If help or advice on nay subject was needed, you called Hilton. My first memory of Hilton was of a smiling young teacher with his arm in a sling. I was shocked to learn of his passing. He was a good man and an excellent teacher who will be greatly missed by many. My condolences to his family.

I knew Hilton as a colleague and friend when we were principals together in Etobicoke. Later, of course he kept in touch with all of us through the Retired Principals’ Meetings semi-annually. I remember him as a helpful and efficient colleague and a kind and supportive friend. Hilton was always the perfect gentleman to everyone. Hilton was an outstanding educator. I knew him as a teacher, consultant and principal where he contributed greatly to the reputation of the Etobicoke Board of Education. He was always supportive of his students, staff and colleagues.

Hilton was long time neighbour of ours in Kleinburg and a respected colleague of mine in the Etobicoke Board of Education. I always enjoyed working with him. As a beginning teacher at West Glen School, I found my colleague, Hilton, to be fun, insightful, loved by the students and the source of a lighthearted humorous atmosphere in the staffroom. Reconnecting at Albion Heights, RTO events and the annual Duke Ellington concerts, he was always friendly and enthusiastic. My deepest sympathy to you. You all had the biggest and best part
of Hilton but I treasure the quality of my smaller sample. Hilton was
one very special person and there is a plethora of people who can
attest to that.
When the late Al Turner retired from the Blackburn Players for
professional and political reasons, a new star was born. Hilton’s
mummy striptease was an act of comedic genius.
After his cooking classes. In Italy, he taught me how to make pasta
from scratch – plus a little egg and flour in Gail’s kitchen.
I treasure my memories, and someday when I feel strong, I shall
view a video of a funny mummy throwing chocolate loonies at
his colleagues.

Our condolences are extended to Gail and family. Hilton will be greatly missed. We still find it difficult to come to grips with his passing. We have a lot of memories that will sustain us through this grieving period and that will ensure that Hilton’s memory will forever live in our minds and hearts.

I am so sad to learn of Hilton’s passing. It is a complete shock to me as I was not aware he was ill.
I have so many happy memories of Hilton when we taught together at West Glen in Etobicoke . I will always remember Hilton for his warm sense of humour his kindness and being a gentle soul.
