It is with great sadness that the family of Herman Ackerman announce his passing on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in his 81st year, predeceased by his wife Doreen. Dear father of James Richard and Liz; Allan and Gayle; Ruth; and his “other favourite daughter”, Shea Wall of his South Carolina family. Loving grandfather of Brad and Sarah. Dear brother of David and Jerry Ackerman of Fifth Lake.
An avid golfer and fisherman, Hank will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, along with his great golfing buddies and fellow fishermen.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff in the neurology and palliative wards at Brampton Civic Hospital.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Monday evening, June 28 from 6:30 to 8 o’clock.

Dad, you were a generous man who loved to enjoy yourself. You lived life to the fullest – something we all need to remember to do. We will miss you.

I was so saddened to learn of Hank’s passing and wish I had known he was not well. He was a wonderful colleague, a genuine gentleman and friend. I have many happy memories of our work together and our wonderful trips to Myrtle Beach.
