On behalf of the Helping Hands Volunteers at the Davis centre, we offer our deepest sympathy to Souhail and family. Helen, YOU will be missed. Before Retiring Helen was a bright light tip-tapping through the halls of the centre, her smile, her hugs, her friendly and comforting taps on the shoulders of every resident. Helen’s passion was making it a “Home” for everybody there. She worked tirelessly with our fundraising, directing the funds to the best use of the Residents. She connected each Volunteers talent to an individual that would benefit the most.
Rest in Peace Helen

Condolence from Rita De Marchi on January 22nd, 2021 2:43 pm

Grief never ends but it changes. It’s a passage not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith. It is the price of love.

Great lady, I met her at the Davis Centre when I began volunteering about 10 years ago. She was a person I admired.
Will be sadly missed.
My condolences to the family.

Helen was bigger than life. She has touch many lives while working at the Davis Centre and those lives have been profoundly affected by her.
I still remember Helen’s love of Dancing with the Stars, she even got the residents hooked on the show. We had to tape it each week for the Residents to watch.
Whenever I think of Helen I think of Robbie Burns, Rod Steward, heels and earrings.

We will miss her very much.

Condolence from Sinceray McCabe on January 30th, 2021 11:58 am

So sorry to hear of Helens passing. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
I worked with Helen for almost 20 years at the Davis Centre.
I admired her wicked sense of humour and quick wit. She was always smiling and was able to make you smile even if you were having the roughest day.
She was an amazing advocate for the residents and staff. I will always remember the click click click of her high heels going up and down the halls.
Robbie Burns day has never been the same since she retired
Helen and I would discuss the best shopping centres in the US. and compared the bargains that we found. One time I was digging in a big bin of purses in a Macy’s in NY state when I hear this unmistakable voice and laughter. I look up and the woman digging on the other side of the bin was Helen. I grabbed the purse she had and said hey lady that one is mine. We had a great laugh.
She will be missed dearly.
