Hectorine Roberta Villanovich (nee Sonier)

After a courageous fight with cancer, Hectorine passed away peacefully at Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, July 22, 2020 in her 79th year, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of 52 years to Aldo Villanovich. Loving mother to Darryl Villanovich (Andrea) of Everett, Lianne Treanor (Gavin) of Burlington. Cherished Nana of Abbey, Sophie, Aiden and Oliver. Dear sister of Roselle LeSarge (Tom) of Peterborough, Robert Sonier (Uta) of Prescott (deceased). Loved by her mother and father, Rita and Hector Sonier (both predeceased). Lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Adriana Davie (Bob) of Alliston and the many members of her extended family in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Singapore.  

The family will receive condolences at the Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 19th at Christ Church Anglican, 22 Nancy St., Bolton from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Due to COVID pandemic the family has arranged a Tent and chairs outside the Church, where the family will greet the visitors after a short private service inside the Church.  Proper safe distancing protocol will be in place.

Donations are welcomed for a great need at a poor school in Guatemala named in Hectorine’s honour.

Hectorine brought her Maritime personality to the Caledon Public Library where she worked in Children Services. Her joyous approach to life and unique knack of smiling and finding what joy there is in life made her respected and loved by staff and patrons.
