Peacefully at Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville on Friday, March 18, 2011, Harold Cook (Cookie) of Caledon, in his 90th year, beloved husband of the late Bessie Alberta Ellis. Loving father of Don and Bonnie Cook of Caledon; Judy and Bob (deceased) Grant of Chatsworth; Bob and Cynthia Cook of Chatsworth; Brenda Cook of Orangeville. Cherished Papa of Julie and Robin, Bob and Danielle, Don and Kelly, Lori, Bryan and Heather, Sarah and Daniel, Alex and Lauren. Dear great-grandfather of Courtney, Lauren, Olivia, Sydney, Caitlin, Nathan, Colin, Hunter and baby boy Grant. Dear brother of Margaret Olliff of Moorefield and Bernice Ellis of Milton. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630). Private interment Dixon’s Union Cemetery, Caledon. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Dufferin Chapter, 204 – 21 Surrey St. W., Guelph N1H 3R3. Deepest Sympathy to The Cook and Grant Families for the loss of Harold. Many memories over the years driving both of us to school. And many memories of happy times at Williams Lake.
Both Harold and Bessie will be remembered. Our thoughts are with the families at this time.
Mom and I have many memories of a brother and an uncle.
Heartfelt sympathy to the Cook family. Brenda, Judy, not having met your Dad, I can only imagine the wonderful memories you will have of a man named Cookie and a man who survived you two. My thoughts are with you.

WONDERFUL MEMORIES FROM SNELGROVE, WASAGA BEACH AND WILLIAMS LAKE. LUTHER AND I MET HAROLD AND BESSIE AT A&P IN ORANGEVILLE AND ALWAYS HAD A GREAT TALK CATCHING UP ON THINGS. ALWAYS THERE WAS LAUGHTER SOME HOW. THAT WHAT I’LL REMEMBER THE MOST. HAROLD ALWAYS HAD A LAUGH WHEN YOU GOT OFF THE BUS!
Although it’s sad for us to say goodbye to Harold, there is comfort in knowing that he and Bessie are together again as they should be!
They will both always have a very special spot in our hearts!

Diane and I have fond memories of Harold calling us boys and we would say we are girls. Harold also would flip his teeth out us as well.
We fond memories being at the cottage and Harold saying it looks like rain the Wiggins family will be here.
Our deepest sympathy to all the Cook family. We have many wonderful memories of our times together – Williams Lake, Florida, Snelgrove, bus-driving days, our “dinner club” – lots of good times – always fondly remembered!
We have fond memories of good times spent with Harold and Bessie at many family gathering. Roy and Harold were great pals while growing up.

My sincere condolences to the family, Don & Bonnie, Judy, Bob & Cynthia, and Brenda. I visited your Dad a couple of times and we had a little visit. Knew harold for almost 70 years and he always was a good friend and neighbour. I have already missed he and Bessie and I’m sure we will all miss them deeply. My best regards from my family to yours. Condolences to the Cook family. Harold made our long bus ride from Bolton to Brampton a pleasant one. Many interesting stories were told, and there was always a laugh. He was one of a kind, and will be sadly missed. Isabelle Bottoms
