Condolence from Kent Beckham, Woodstock ON on December 6th, 2012 7:09 pm

Greg & I pretty well did the same job at Canadian Partner. We’d swap stories over a bite when laying over in the same destinations with our crews. It wasn’t until he was on the ‘Little Fokker’ that we actually flew together.
Bumping into his silly mug at flight planning always was a fresh breath. Although we had a job to get done, it was still fun to catch up. We will all miss him.
My deepest condolences.

Condolence from Peter and Rossana Boruta on December 7th, 2012 3:17 pm

Dear Nancy, Sarah and Family,
We are deeply saddened by this news and can only hope that our collective stories about our fond experiences with Greg comfort you in this difficult time.
I loved flying with Greg because he could always out do me in his mischievous ways. Whether it was switching the channels using his gadget watch in a bar while patrons were fixated on the Olympics or leading the instructor astray in class, he kept us giggling under our breaths. Our namesake “MacGyver” was so fitting!
He would tease my wife, the Customs Officer on how he could always sneak things through the border so always referred to Greg as “The Smuggler”!
Not many can people in this life can pass on and leave us smiling and giggling the way Greg has. I hope you can break through your sorrow now and then and laugh along too.
As I write this from my layover in Hong Kong, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as I was unable to attend to offer my condolence

Condolence from Brian Klassen on December 7th, 2012 3:26 pm

Dear Nancy & Sarah. I always enjoyed a visit with Greg. He had interesting stories to tell and was always the entertainer. When any children were around they were often educated as well. He loved computers & gadgets and sometimes he and Karen would ” computer talk ” for hours. We also played a lot of kaiser and he was an aggressive bidder, very competitive! I will miss him and I am so very sorry for your loss of a special husband, partner and father.

Brian

I am very saddened by Greg’s loss. I first knew Greg when he lived just down the street from me when I was growing up in Edmonton, nearly 40 years ago! We would build tree forts in the forest and play with CB radios. We came in contact again years later when we were both pilots at Canadian Partner. I will remember his easy going nature, his amazing recollection of a myriad of information and his love for his family.

Nancy and Sarah,

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Greg’s passing. Our condolences go out to you and your family.

Greg became part of our lives through Canadian Regional. I have great memories of a time spent joined at the hip, walking the shorelines and streets of Dinard, France as we worked through the initial F28 Simulator together. After that we spent many an hour rocketing through the skies having a wonderful time. Greg’s warm smile and ever happy approach to life and the job made these times memorable. I always looked forward to flying with Greg. Even though we lost touch with each other he will be sorely missed.

Don and Kelly

Dear Nancy:

I remember sitting at the table in the lunch room with you not more than a few days before your husband passed away……chatting with you and appreciating that you’re always in the BEST of humor, smiling, encouraging, positive in outlook, and genuinely caring about your fellow workmates.
As the news spread of your husbands passing, it rather hit some of us like a brick. Even though many of us at work don’t know you that well personally, myself included, your sunny disposition can and does have a strong impact.
It’s with great sadness that I send this note of condolence to you and your daughter Sarah. I’ve thought of you often since hearing, and continue to do so. I wish you and Sarah great strength, love, and support from your family and all your friends as you both continue to cope with your loss.
Sincerely,
Bill Neufeld

Condolence from Barb Kostenuk on April 9th, 2013 12:15 pm

I only just found out the news of Greg’s passing through a family friend, and a former neighbor of yours (Arthur). Greg was a very kind, and helpful man. Greg and I helped arrange the itinerary of Arthur and my mom’s European trip. I was impressed with how Greg went out of his way to be so helpful. This is so sad, and life was taken away too soon for Greg. My heart goes out to the family.
