We are saddened to hear of Wayne’s passing. He was very special to us and will be greatly missed. As a long time vendor at the Orangeville Farmers’ Market, Wayne has been a fixture in our community and the Market won’t be the same without him. On behalf of the members at Ontario Farm Fresh, we send our condolences to Wayne’s family. We are shocked and saddened to hear the news of his passing. Wayne participated in some our workshops and was always very positive and pleasant to work with. I am sure it will be a huge gap in your family.

I cannot imagine the sense of loss that the family must be feeling for such a sweet, kind, and gentle man and I am praying for each of you. From the first moment that I spoke with Wayne I was drawn by his quiet, unassuming nature. I have had several visits to the farm and the market to meet with him, as a client, over the last few years and I will never forget the stories he shared about his family while tallying up orders or searching thru the numerous freezers hunting for what we needed. He will be greatly missed by all who he touched.

Wayne was a kind and gentle man who was deeply committed to our community, and the importance of agriculture in the region. Our team at Headwaters Tourism had the honour of working with him as we were developing our agri-tourism sector and we will miss his quiet contribution and influence in our work. Our deepest condolences to Wayne’s family and friends.

Thank you Speers family for taking the time to write to Wayne’s customers in the midst of your grief. I was so shocked and saddened to read the news. Wayne was such a memorably nice man; I grew to look forward to having a little talk with him at the Borden market and when he would make his winter deliveries. I will also really miss his steaks and ground beef; no others are like it.

Wayne will be sorely missed by so many people and his dog Rosie. When I think of Wayne i think of a deep thinker, a kind and gentle soul, a slow mover and thoughtful before he opened his mouth to speak. Wayne became our family friend, along with Laura Jean, through my work place originally, but even when we moved to Burlington, we stayed in touch. I’ll miss our chats and visits. I’m sorry we didn’t get to finish your garden together Wayne. xoxoxo I’m sorry for your loss…to the whole family and extended friends.

As Toronto customers, we did not know Wayne well, but enjoyed every encounter with him….and were grateful to him for enabling us to eat healthier and more humanely raised meat products.
