Condolence from Joanne, John, Sydney & Steve Sheard on March 7th, 2012 9:59 am

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time, and special thoughts for Michael. When my parents passed I always read the following poem , and it helped : “Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.”

Condolence from Jennifer van Tol on March 7th, 2012 8:12 pm

My friends, my heart hurts for your loss…for our loss. Glen was one of the greatest people I have been blessed to know and to work with. I will always remember his sly chuckle when he was up to something (which was more often than not)! I truly have the utmost respect for Glen and all he has done for the TRCA, the Lions Club and other groups he devoted his heart and soul to. He was a good, good man and I miss him dearly.

I cannot imagine how you feel right now, but just know that you’re not alone. You have many people around who are here for you should you need anything.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather the love of our lost ones shining down on us, letting us know they are happy.

Glen is happy now and with every one of us.

Lots of love and prayers.

Jennifer van Tol, former TRCA colleague

Linda & Family:
Our sincere sympathy to all of you during this difficult time. Glen coached our girls in baseball during the 1980’s. He will be deeply missed in the community.

Condolence from Marcie Scott on March 8th, 2012 5:56 pm

Linda and family,

If I had to summarize in one word what Glen is, it would be “good”. I have memories of times our family shared at our farm, at Lions Club events or just seeing you around town. And of course Glen was a big part of those memories. Glen hired me to work at Boyd the summer after my Dad passed away, and to this day I credit his decision as making what could have been a terrible summer a bit more bearable. The opportunity he gave me is just one example of his kind, quiet and generous nature.

He is no longer suffering, but I know that doesn’t take away the pain you feel. As the days and weeks pass, may you be comforted by your own memories, and in knowing that he has made a huge impact on every TRCA employee, every Lion, and to the citizens of Nobleton whom he served.

Please know that you are in my thoughts.

Love,
Marcie

Condolence from Aine Furey on March 8th, 2012 7:28 pm

Glen:
Having known you on a professional level for many, many years at the Boyd Conservation Area (TRCA), it was always a pleasure seeing you. Your welcome smile and honest effort to help our film requests , no matter how crazy they seemed over the years, were always given your best effort to accommodate and we always came away from those experiences with fond memories and very successful shoot days. Always at the ready, even in emergency situations, you would come and be there for us (weekends, after hours etc). I don’t think you really knew how much we appreciated your professionalism and kindness and ALWAYS with a great big smile. You will be missed for sure but our great memories, sometimes very humorous and that smile, followed by your “it’s not a problem” attitude, will, in turn, put a great big smile on our faces, Glen, you will not be forgotten and remain in our hearts ALWAYS.

and to the family of Glen Gauslin and his co-workers at the TRCA, please accept our heartfelt sympathy and hoping that memories of Glen will put a great big smile on your faces. He would like that.

On behalf of all of us in the Film Industry who had the pleasure of dealing and working with Glen.

Aine Furey
Location Manager

Condolence from Min-Hi Choi on March 12th, 2012 11:41 pm

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Linda and family. Glen was a really great person. I always enjoyed my chats with him at work. I will never forget his story about how he was hit by lightning as a young man, and about how his parents, not sure if he’d pull through, subsequently sold his car while he was still unconscious. It was a tragic and an incredible event that many would have re-told as such, and so I think it was a testament to Glen’s good humour and nature that in telling his miraculous story, it actually came across at times as quite funny, and we shared some laughs as he told it.

Linda, it was wonderful to see you and Glen at Margaret’s Kortright holiday party. My thoughts are with you. Lots of love…

Min-Hi
