Suddenly on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, Gino DeSantis, Brampton (Wildfield) in his 75th year, beloved husband of Jean DeSantis (nee Hill). Loving father of Joanne and Colin Young, Lisa and Stephen Yau, Tina DeSantis and Peter Cvejic, Mark and Lesley DeSantis. Doting grandpa of Patrick, Matthew and Sydnee. Dear brother of Antonio (deceased), Dora, Gea and Maria. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Thursday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock.

Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton on Friday morning, March 25 at 10 o’clock (leaving funeral home at 9:45 a.m.).

Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Woodbridge. Parish prayers will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome,com

Dear Mark,

I am truly saddened to hear of your recent loss and would like to express my sincere condolences to you and your family on the recent passing of your father.

Your father was such an amazing person who touched the lives of so many. I remember the many times he and i sat watching the horses at Woodbine and talking the opportunity to talk about you and your extended hockey career, he was very proud of you and i am very saddend.

I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you and your family. We hope that you find courage and strength to bear this irreparable loss. He was a such a great man.

We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of Gino’s passing. He was such a kind and wonderful cousin!

We recall many happy memories of the times he and his family would visit Cleveland to see his Uncle Chester and Aunt Nilda DeSantis.

He was always a wonderful host when we had the opportunity to visit Canada.
