My heart is broken. George was a one in a million. He was such a nice man and so full of life. I have many memories of our thespian days. He was funny, kind, smart. I know he is with his dear Barb now and he is going to entertain in Heaven. My prayers are with the family. “ A life well lived “.

We are stunned!!! We met George on our trip to Egypt. He was so fun and full of life. Loved his posts of travel and cats!!! He spoke so lovingly of his late wife Barbara. The comfort is that they are now together. So sorry for your loss.

Please accept my sincere sympathy at the loss of your father. I knew George many years ago from the St. Mike’s plays. Years later we found out that we lived in the same neighborhood. I had been following his many travels through Facebook and was truly shocked to learn of his passing.

Yikes – this news strikes hard. George and I unexpectedly shared the stage in Caledon 13 years ago when I came into Don’t Dress For Dinner after the show lead took ill after dress rehearsal. I don’t think I have ever had so much fun as I had with George in those performances. His wit, timing, and willingness to play were a joy to work off of. Alas we lost touch, and I regret that, but reading of his passing brings back a lot of superb memories. I was only a very tiny part of the world that he made better by being in it, but then, isn’t that what life is all about? Thank you, George!!

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I met your dad George when I was a young supply teacher and I replaced one of the teachers where he taught. He was very friendly, energetic and funny. Your RIP mom Barb was a VP at the school where I began my full time career and became a long time mentor. I miss her dearly. She was vibrant and always very upbeat. To the Komorowski Family: Sending my sincere condolences are sent to George’s family and dear friends. I remember George and Barb as teachers with the Toronto Catholic School Board. Their teaching contributions will be remembered by fellow TCDSB teaching colleagues, administrators and students.

I am so sorry to hear of George’s passing. We did a play together in Caledon. It was a pleasure to share the stage with him.

I was so saddened to hear about the death of George Komorowski. He was such a marvelous fellow and part of that old school of debonaire actors with wonderful speaking voices and larger-than-life personalities. I have enjoyed his many travelogues around the world and comical, witty comments that accompanied them. I can understand where his son, Greg, picked up his theatrical talents and his daughter, her wonderful outgoing personality! He raised a beautiful family and both his offspring demonstrate the qualities we would all like to see in our children, a real credit to both their parents. “Goodnight sweet Prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest,” a noble epitaph by Shakespeare that could easily apply to this real gem of a man, husband and father.

I am so saddened to hear of this. George and I only spent one day together shooting a commercial. But we became immediate friends. He was about to go on a trip, a far flung adventure, so I asked him to send me a postcard. Which he did. He then kept me abreast of all his adventures to all these exotic locales via Facebook. I was so impressed with his stamia and thirst for adventure and curiosity. That’s why I called him “Curious George”. Rest in Peace. Safe travels to Heaven.

In our early 20’s George and I were extras with the opera company and shared many an epic experience together. It was another 40 years before we found each other – first when George sent a picture of us in Aida and then when we met up at Free Times Cafe for an evening of storytelling. It was like decades turned into minutes and we talked about getting together when he came back from Florida and I had asked him to share our storytelling stage on April 5th. Seeing the outpouring of love and admiration for him on Facebook I so regret the time we didn’t;t get to spend together. My condolences.

I only met George a few times, in the context of his excellent work on a couple of films to which I contributed writing, to varying degrees. He was never anything less than a joy to interact with. Treated you like an old friend from the moment he first laid eyes on you, and it never felt forced or overly familiar. He just had a way about him… a knack, I suppose, for communication. However, it ran deeper than just the gift of gab. It’s like he was in tune with everyone. Perhaps that is why, after having spent no more than a couple hours total of my life either interacting with or chatting with him, learning of his passing, I feel like a good friend has died. Fair winds and following seas, George.

So shocked to read this, having just swapped a few funny comments with George a few days ago.

Will always remember my former Saint Mike’s classmate. We had some good laughs. And lots of jokes – weren’t inappropriate back then.

Ah Greg and Kathryn, I got to know George at Greg’s wedding and also got to know you, Kathryn. George was instantly one of those people who made you feel welcome with his George jokes, his larger than life energy and his generous warmth. Your mom was the same (minus the George jokes). I am deeply saddened to learn he will not be performing anymore but grateful that he will be reuniting with Barb his love. Sending love and support to you both. He will be missed.

George you left us too soon! The show was not supposed to be over! Thanks for coming into our family when you took Barb as your wife. We will always hold dear in our hearts the times we spent at weddings, family reunions, among other occasions. It was always a pleasure to share your company. I am so saddened and shocked to hear of George’s passing. His presence on Facebook was always fascinating to read and to see his brilliant pictures of far flung places. We shared a Polish heritage, and the story of his mother in the Polish underground during the Second World War, was inspiring and so intriguing. I send my condolences to all his family. The Zawalicz family were long time friends of the Komorowski family. George and I knew each other for 60 years, the first 20 our families spent important holidays and events together. I even recall attending Dr. Zhivago film as a group.
Only the last 2 years had we reinvigorated our friendship and now I am very sorry it took so long.

It’s taken some time to collect my thoughts about George’s passing. He’s been part of the fabric of my family for 30 years and enriched us all. George was always the light in the room others naturally gravitated towards. He made our days brighter and full of laughter. Our light shines a little dimmer without his energy to grace our journey.

George was one of my favourite prize winners at Classical FM.
Always in a good mood ,sometimes bringing treats from Tim Hortons.

I knew him as Mr. Komorowski at St Marcellus elementary school. He was my 4th grade teacher. I write this because I was looking online to find out what some of my favourite teachers were up to and unfortunately I found out that this incredible educator has passed away.

He was one of my favourite teachers in my lifetime and had a huge impact on my childhood. He was firm but fair, wise and knowledgeable but never pretentious. He taught with a swagger that just couldn’t be matched. He had a love of film and tv and spread that love to the classroom engaging us with classic films that 4th grade students have never seen or heard of. I appreciated that from him as it helped me grow and appreciate my love for films.

A great man, teacher, person, professional that I was so lucky to know. God bless you Mr K. You were one of the best!
