Condolences for the family of “Frederick John Twitchin B.A.”

Condolence from Brett Everett on December 26th, 2010 2:07 pm

Fred is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. James Bolton Public School was privileged to have Fred as a dedicated community volunteer. Sunshine, rain or snow, Fred made his presence in the hallways, classroom and in the staff room. He always dressed and spoke like a gentlemen. The children and staff adored him and looked forward to his daily visits. Fred made people feel special, especially all the children he worked with. The children would jocky in position to get a hug or rush in to share a special story. In the JB staff room, Fred shared memories of his late wife and how he cherished his children and grandchildren.
We will all miss you Fred.

On behalf of the staff and students at James Bolton Public School I would like to send our most sincere condolences. Mr. Twitchin could be found most mornings at our school volunteering. He was gentle and kind. He worked beautifully with some of our neediest students. Fred was a valuable mentor for our teachers. He kept everything in perspective. We will miss his quiet dignity and genuine warmth. He was very much loved and will continue to be so.

Condolence from John Cumming on December 27th, 2010 5:51 am

I served as Acting Vice-Principal at James Bolton P.S. during the last school year and getting to know Fred was one of the more delightful aspects of the job. I had been a Math teacher earlier in my career and we would often chat about a little of everything and a lot of nothing.

It was really wonderful to see how much he was loved and respected by everyone in the school community.

He will be missed

How privileged we were to know and work with Fred Twitchin at James Bolton School! And how we will miss him! His calming, caring influence . . . the twinkle in his eye . . . his insight and perspective.

Fred, if life is measured in the love we leave behind, yours was one of this community’s greatest treasures.

I will miss you so much.

Condolence from Glenn Wellspring on December 27th, 2010 11:37 pm

Having grown up with the Twitchin Family since I was a child I had come to think of Mr. & Mrs. Twitchin ( Fred and Georgina) as the Cleaver’s because they reminded me of Ward and June Cleaver from TV, they were the only normal parents I knew growing up, their love for each other and Mr. T’s calmness and willingness to discuss and explain any subject matter is what
every child wanted in a parent, sadly Fred lost the love of his life several years ago but they are now happily together again.
Our deepest sympathy to his loved ones
