Frederick

Passed away suddenly on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the William Osler Health Centre in Brampton. Born in Lindsay, Ontario, Fred mostly lived in Toronto, traveled the world and settled in his beloved British Virgin Islands. He was a charismatic, colourful story teller who appreciated the finer things in life and always had a joke to tell. He was loved and respected by many. Fred was a son, a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle and cherished grandfather. Left behind are his adored wife Bonnie, his sons, Tom, Dave and Robert and their spouses Lori and Lisa, their children Jayson, Jacqui, Billy, Dylan and Sydney, and his little girls forever Gayle and Bianca. Never forgotten by his brother Paul and his wife Pam, his favorite sister Donna and his nieces and nephews, their spouses and children, his step brother Jim Ennis and his wife Charlene, and his dearest friends. He is predeceased by his parents Muriel (nee Daniels) and her husband Mel Ennis and Andrew Warrilow and his wife Vi. Most sadly missed by BonBon, Fraidy Cat, Tominator, Jayburger, Lumpy, Marty Mooch, Cisa, Dylburger, Sydley, Minnow, Binkster and Shay and anyone hoping for a chance to win their money back in poker!

Oh, Freddie, you were so good to Kathy and I, still treating her as family, and me likewise by association. Your generosity and childlike delight at the little things in life like having “Ikee” (ice cream cone) after lunch….are now the stuff of legend. You are missed, and continue to be loved in perpetuity, in our memory. Fetch me that horizon, matey.

Condolence from Cindy Hatherley on July 29th, 2010 2:01 pm

Dear Bonnie and family,
I was saddened to read of Fred’s passing today, exactly one year to the day since I too suddenly lost my husband.
Bonnie, I remember so well your love for life, adventure, and for each other. Although the times we spent together were brief, we always left with a smile.
You have my deepest condolences,
Warmest regards,
Lynn.

Condolence from Claire Parrot on August 6th, 2010 1:17 am

Dear Bonnie and family,

I have known Frederick since 1973, an excellent friend who was always ready to help. I will always remember Frederick for his genuine ”joie de vivre” which was so contagious…

Thinking of you all,

Claire Parrot

The photo of Fred at the helm of the sailboat was taken by me on a memorable sail to Anegada (BVI) with Bonnie, Capt Roy and myself. Fred was in his element that day, one hand to steer and the other clutching a cold beer and entreating us all with his hilarious jokes and stories. Fredikins was a true “original” – with an amazing knowledge of cars and boats. On a visit with Bon to our family place in Lake George, NY I took Fred down to the boat house to show him some of our wooden classic boats. Surrounded by stately Chris Crafts and Hacker Crafts -Fred goes instead over to a fiber glass Bertram and enthuses about the merits of a Bertram! A talented remodeler of houses -it was always a treat to see what new changes he made at Mongoose Villa. Bonnie’s soul mate in life – we will all miss him.

Condolence from Leila and Howard Petrook on August 8th, 2010 12:52 pm

Dear Bonnie, Gayle, Donna and Fred’s other children and close relatives,
We were so, so sorry to receive Bonnie’s phone call. Please accept our sincerest condolences at your loss. Fred was a real prince among men – unfailingly generous, very funny, nothing seemed to phase him. He always had a smile on his face. And what a capacity he had for making friends!
We shall always remember him with great affection.
Leila and Howard Petrook.
