Sincere condolences to the McFadden Family on the passing of Trudy.

We grew up 2 houses south on Elizabeth Drive. Trudy was always a dear and kind friend of my mother Helen Pitkin. There were 5 of us on the street born in 1956 (Geraldine, Ann, Eddie, Tommy and I so we played with each other lots until Grade One came along. Who can forget evening games of “Farmer in the Dell” with Laing’s Toy House as home base. Trudy was one of a group of mom’s who were always there for us when needed ; sandwiches for lunch or mending a cut, scrap or whatever injury came to us. I didn’t know Trudy was an RN but that sure explains why she was the preferred mom when a patch up was needed. As per Scott Boynton, I lost count of how many times the neighbourhood kids went swimming in the McFadden pool.

Trudy’s love and kindness touched a lot of us from the neighborhood and definitely contributed to the happy childhood I fondly and regularly recall.

A life well lived with love, kindness, graciousness and integrity.
