Peacefully in his home in Killaloe, on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, Frank Prothero, at the age of 92 years, beloved husband of the late June Prothero and loving companion of Gert Johansen.  Loving father of Frank and Jeannie Prothero of Caledon; Connie and Paul Sawyer of Killaloe; Jess Prothero of Tottenham and predeceased by his daughter April.  Devoted grandfather of Jason, Jonathan, Shawn, and Joshua Prothero; Paige and Wyatt Prothero; Yvonne, Sarah and Frank Dacres.  Great-grandfather of ten grandkids.  Dear brother of Jean Archibald of Bobcaygeon and Don “Joe” Greer of Shelburne.  

Private family funeral service will be held at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Monday morning, March 1 at 10 o’clock.  The family invites those who wish to view the service to do so through live streaming at

We have such fond memories of many wonderful holidays spent at Round Lake with June, Frank and family as well as several parties down on Highway 9! So grateful to have had many conversations with Frank over the phone since he moved up to Round Lake and delighted to have met and formed a bond with Franks partner Gert! A beautiful woman who loved and cared deeply for Frank . Gert you were a special blessing to Frank and a great companion. You will miss him dearly as will all of Franks loved ones.
