About 25 years ago, I was in my early twentys, Zio said something that will forever be in my mind. We was achy and tired from a long weeks work. We were watching TV in his den and he let out “Ah, Dio Dio Dio.” I asked him why the heavy sigh?
“Getting old” he said with a smile. I’m not really sure why, but I asked him ” What’s the worst part of growing old?” He thought about it for a short moment, and again with a smile, almost like he was letting me in on a little secret, he offered “The body ages but the spirit doesn’t… my mind likes to do what my body doesn’t.” His spirit was going just as strong when I saw him a short time ago. I’ve lost the best dancing partner in the world and now I’m going to have to teach my husband how to dance.
