Pellett Web

May 10, 1931 to November 4, 2024

The Pellett family is sad to announce the death of Eve, peacefully in hospice at the grand old age of 93. She has finally been reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Bill.  Beloved mother of Rick, Bonnie and Jim, Sandy and Paul. Cherished grandmother of Sherrie, Jen, Rebecca (Chris), and Rachel (Matt) and great grandmother of Marjorie, Emma Eve, and Roland.  Predeceased by her brother Ted, sister-in-law Marion, and brother-in-law Leonard. Survived by sisters Connie and Pat and brother-in-law Dave. Special Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Eve was a proud career woman, starting at Goodyear Tire in her youth and progressing in Municipal government from secretary at the Township of Albion all the way to Clerk of the Town of Caledon. When not working she was active at Palgrave United Church and in the United Church Women. She and Bill spent many wonderful trips in the trailer all over North America, with much “elite dining” with friends along the way.  All who knew her will miss her wit and belly laugh. The angel choir has gained another voice.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Meg Daly who provided care in her last weeks and to Bethell Hospice for their exceptional care. We are also immensely grateful to her neighbours Pete and Chrissy for watching over her for all the years since we lost Bill. She would not have been able to stay in her home nearly as long without your care and attention.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street South (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday afternoon 1 – 3 o’clock.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning, November 8 at 11 o’clock.  Following a reception at the funeral home, interment Morningside Cemetery, Pine Avenue, Palgrave.

We are so sad to hear about the passing of Eve. She was such a joy to be with and I loved all my chats with her over the last 35 years at church and on her front porch. I will miss seeing her reading and giving a wave from her porch. There is another angel watching over all of us. Carol and Jon Bromby/Wagner.

Condolence from Dixie Jones on November 6th, 2024 6:11 pm

Growing up in Palgrave, I have many wonderful memories of Eve . My earliest memories of her was learning to feed the birds in her 4&5 yr. old Sunday School class.

As a childhood friend of Sandy, I was impressed that this modern mom who worked outside the home found time to take us bowling & make desserts. I’ll always remember a fun outing to Moon Palace for Chinese food.

The choirs of heaven certainly have added a beautiful voice.

My sincere condolences to the entire family.

with love, Dixie Jones

Condolences to your family on the passing of Eve. I am very close friends with Pete and Chrissy and he has spoken to me many times of the friendship between them and Eve and Bill over the years.
Being older myself and have seen many laid to rest, cherish every moment you all shared with the two of them.

Condolence from Joyce MacKinnon on November 6th, 2024 8:03 pm

Dear, Dear Eve! It is hard to believe you won’t be waving from your front porch, or saying “yippee” when I share a new adventure with you. You were the one who set me on my UCW leadership journey, supporting me along the way. You were the one who encouraged me in the music leadership. I am forever grateful. You were like the big sister so many of us didn’t have.
To your family, thank you for sharing your mom, your grandma with us. She was a blessing to all of us. Heaven has a new beautiful voice in its choir of angels.

Condolence from Fay McCrea on November 7th, 2024 10:02 am

Myself and 2 other former Town of Caledon employees had a wonderful visit with Eve at her home on Sept. 8th and she seemed so well and happy so we are all very sad to learn of her passing but also so pleased that we all had that last visit. Eve was a very special person in my employment life at the Town of Caledon. When Eve was promoted to Town Clerk, her previous position became vacant and I applied for it and was the successful recipient. Eve was a great mentor to me and I enjoyed working with her. God Bless You, Eve. You will be missed

We will Miss Eve terribly just like her husband Bill, but now they are together once more.

God bless them both.

Condolence from Sylvia King on November 8th, 2024 3:07 pm

Eve was such an institution in our Palgrave Church and community beyond. Her endearing smile and laugh were always part of her persona. I joined the choir many many years after Eve and we shared a lot of laughs in the alto section! Her dedication was fundamental to the ongoing success of the famous Palgrave Turkey dinner! But most important, were her special scones that Eve set aside just for me at the wonderful UCW bazaar and bake sales. I hope she is baking these for her loving friends and relatives in Heaven.

Condolence from Nancy Barton on November 12th, 2024 12:48 pm
