November 24, 1943 – July 27, 2021
Evelyn Maarse (nee Burkitt) passed peacefully at King Nursing home in Bolton. Beloved wife of Case for 58 Years. Loving mother of Garry (Kristen) and Darren (Patti) and grandmother to Camille, Connor, Garrik, and Damien. Predeceased by brother Peter.
Evelyn was born and raised in Kleinburg. From her mother Masel she learned to cook and can vegetables from her father Cecil’s impressive garden. She liked to play with her brother Peter and their friends. She went to business college and became a secretary at Retail Credit where she met her future husband Case. They were married in 1964 and lived in Weston for a time before moving to the countryside outside of Bolton. Evelyn loved the home she built with Case and shared with their sons. She enjoyed family trips no matter where they were. Evelyn also enjoyed her extended family with whom she always made sure to stay in touch. She was active in the community including years spent volunteering as a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.

Dear Case, Gary, and Darren, so sorry to hear about Evelyn’s death. I should have kept in touch better. I like to remember her in her home and entertaining us with lovely meals. Case, I hope you are keeping well. Gary and Kristen, Darren and Patti, I think of you guys often and hope all is going well with you and the kids. They must be getting big now. I’m so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed seeing Evelyn when you would bring her to my shop to get her hair cut. My sincere condolences to you Case, and your family.
