Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in Brampton, Ontario, at the age of 75. Beloved wife of Carm, mother of Jeff and Jennifer, mother-in-law of Ashley Sanders and Steve Leckey and grandmother of Mackenzie, Cameron and Zachary. She will be missed by all, including her much-loved extended family: sister Jane (Jim) Gudnason, brothers-in-law Stuart (Doreen), Robert (Marilyn) and sisters-in-law Marilyn and Marjorie. Liz was a kind, generous and thoughtful friend, who loved to socialize, bake for her family and tend her garden. She was a devoted volunteer at her church, at the CNIB and in her local community, especially after she moved back to her hometown of Brighton, Ontario in her 50’s. She was deeply proud of her children and took great joy in watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Foundation Fighting Blindness Canada would be gratefully received. Memories, photos or condolences may be shared at www.eganfuneralhome.com.

We will always remember the kindness you and Liz showed us when we met you at Probus just after we moved to Brighton. You invited us to your home and made us feel welcome in our new location. To Carm, Jeff, Jennifer and extended family,

I was shocked and saddened to read of Liz’s passing in today’s paper, and know you will be missing her terribly. There is nothing I can say that can extinguish the pain of this loss, but please know that I, and others, would wish to help you share it if we could. Liz was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, and a very remarkable and capable person. Hold tight your fond and loving memories of her, as a means to help you through these dark hours. I look forward to the celebration of her life, once conditions allow, and we can remenisce of our time at 3rd Brampton.

Condolence from Barry and Marilyn Duguid on June 1st, 2020 2:43 pm

Barry and I are more than sad about hearing of Liz’s passing last week. Liz has been a dear friend of both of us since 1963. Liz and I (Marilyn) met when we lived for a time at the same boarding home in Belleville. We both eventually got married, had children and became grandmothers together. She was a precious and loving friend and I thank God for the gift of her friendship. We send our love and prayers to Carm and her extended family. Liz will rest in our hearts forever.
Lovingly, Barry and Marilyn Duguid

Condolence from Susanne Voskamp on June 1st, 2020 5:46 pm

Dear Carm, Jeff and Jennifer, Harry and I wish to add our condolences at the loss of a precious person in yours and many other lives. It was a great shock to hear from you this morning Carm, it especially makes me sad that I had been negligent in keeping in touch since you moved away from Brighton. We fondly remember happy times spent with the two of you when you were in Mississauga and later when you moved back to Brighton. Liz and I met when we started high school at ENSS, Brighton and were very close. She most certainly touched the hearts of many people and will remain loved by all. May you find comfort in knowing that she passed peacefully. Susanne & Harry Voskamp
