Condolence from Cheryl Wetmore (Hopkins) on March 28th, 2011 1:33 pm

Some of my fondest and most vivid memories from childhood are of the summers spent with our two families together at the cottage. I remember everyone always joking around and that the air was always filled with laughter; I can still hear Aunt Eleanor’s laugh, she had the best laugh ever. I also remember looking forward to Christmas day because our families would get together and it was always such a fun time. Then there were the times I would sleep over for a few days and I would really feel like I was part of the family.
I was always in awe of Aunt Eleanor’s ability to magically transform a piece of fabric into a favourite outfit and I even remember her sewing at the cottage!
I’m so glad of all the time we spent together and will always treasure my memories and will never forget her laugh.

Condolence from Debbie Anderson(Martyn) on March 28th, 2011 5:49 pm

Having just read my cousin Cheryl’s message, I find it hard to say anything she didn”t cover. Aunt Eleanor”s laugh always made it hard to resist joining in. I remember the christmas familiy dinners together as kids, especially when we got new hand sewn clothes for our barbie dolls from her, despite her arthritic fingers. It was a work of love from her. Also remembered are many fun times at family cottages at Paudash and Baptiste Lake in the summers of long ago, which hold such great memories………………….Deb

With military life you are always away from family, but Eleanor and Glenn managed to visit us at most of our postings to bring laughter,
lots of good times and warm thoughts of all the family.

We shall remember Eleanor’s kindness and laughter and all the fun times together.

“Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things”.

love,

Christine and Nick
