Long time employee of Union Carbide

Peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, at Avalon Care Centre, Orangeville with her family at her side, on Friday, April 1, 2011, Eleanor Gray, in her 94th year. Cherished mother of Ruby and her husband Ken (deceased) Heaslip, Robert (deceased), Milton, Joan and her husband Dick Schraa, Bradly and his wife Melanie, Beverly and her husband Brian Miller. Fondly remembered by her 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Lillian and Florence. Eleanor was raised in Toronto, moved to Dufferin County where she married Robert Gray, farmed and raised 6 children. In 1983 Eleanor retired from Union Carbide and has spent the last 11 years at the Avalon Nursing Home. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519-941-2630) Wednesday, April 6 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the chapel at one o’clock. Spring interment Relessey Cemetery, Mono Centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Avalon Activity Department or Alzheimer Day Program, 355 Broadway, Orangeville L9W 3Y3.
