Passed away after a brief illness in Mississauga, on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the age of 93. Born in Hythe, Kent, England, she was the eldest of three sisters. Eileen was the matriarch of a young family that immigrated to the Caledon East area nearly 60 years ago from post-war England. Predeceased by husband Gordon Lewis in 1985. She was the loving mother of Patricia O’Callaghan (Matt Maharaj) of Mississauga and Tony Lewis (Patty) of Waterloo. Cherished grandmother of Timothy O’Callaghan of Toronto and Jennifer Racicot (George) of Kitchener, and great-grandmother of Catie Racicot. Eileen will be remembered as the first Guide Leader in Caledon East, and as a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Valley Chapter 297. The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S., (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213), on Thursday, June 11 from one o’clock until time of funeral service at 2 o’clock.
