Edna Johnston (nee Wilson) passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the age of 88 years. She lived her long and wonderful life to the fullest with Jim, her beloved husband of 65 years, by her side. Loving mother of Paul and Betty Johnston, Sheila and David Lewis. Proud grandmother of Lynnette Johnston and Paul Gray, Karen Lewis and Bernard Tobin, Teresa Johnston and Tony Comella, Sabrina and Michael Eels, Ed Lewis and Erin Peck, Pauline and Brian Wilson. Adored Nana to Jonathan, Travis, Alexis, Gloria, Hilary, Jerad, Abigail, Liam, Bridget, Madden and Ryder. Edna is survived by her sisters Jean and Don Armstrong, Norene and Jack Judge. She is predeceased by her parents Irene and Nelson Wilson and her siblings Harold, Lorne, Ilda, Gordon and Olive. Edna will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends at cards, the Outdoor Resorts of Orlando and fellow TwinSeas campers.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Monday evening 7 – 9, Tuesday afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, August 6 at 2 o’clock. Interment Providence Cemetery, Caledon East. Eastern Star service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 522 University Avenue, Toronto M5G 2R5, or Providence Cemetery, c/o Mr. Grant Sherman, 13595 Torbram Road, Caledon L7C 2T7 or a charity of your choice. Sorry to hear of your Family’s loss. We are thinking of all the good times and your family at this sad time.
We were quite surprised to hear of Edna’s passing as we had seen Jim quite recently.We always knew where they lived but really got to know them playing cards & I must say you had to be having a good day to beat Edna as she certainly had it all figured out.
We would like to express our condolences to Jim and family.I am sure all the happy memories of Edna will be endless as she was a great lady.

I can remember working at Palletts apple orchard with Edna and doing 4H projects in her kitchen.

Johnston and Lewis families, so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Nana. I have so many fond memories of Edna – strawberry picking, swimming in the pool after, fun times in Florida. Hugs to all – rest in peace!
