Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. I really thought he was a good man and enjoyed what time I did spend with him. I am glad that he was able to come back to Orangeville to be closer to you and the kids for the last few years.

Please accept my condolences on Doug’s death. Although I had not seen him for a number of years, but I remember him as a decent & kindly gentleman.

I’m so touched by the video I got to see at last. R.I.P., Grandad and happy birthday today. I’ll miss you loads, always and forever. The first time I met you I was 7 or 8 and Mum was rushed to hospital but you gave me a gold maple leaf and I still have it safe xx Love to all the family xx

I stumbled across this quite accidentally, what a lovely tribute to such a lovely man. I worked with Doug back in the early 70s. He was extremely knowledgeable and very kind….everyone loved Doug. It was at a time when there were a lot of changes happening in the travel industry particularly with Charter Clubs which was where we worked, Quo Vadis. I quit the sinking ship (Quo Vadis) and moved on. Later I ran into Doug when I was at a management conference at the “Old Mill” I believe was the name of the hotel in Caledon. It was so good to see him. I often wondered what happened to some of the people I met at my first job and gateway into the travel industry. So happy to see that Doug was surrounded by family and so move love, he was a wonderful man.
