It was so sad to hear of Doug’s passing. Dan & I grew up with Doug, We were in the same class in grade 5, 7 & 8, & went through high school together, & he could always make me smile. I’ll miss seeing him around town. Caring thoughts go out to you Kelly & your family, & to Doug’s family also. May he rest in peace.

I was saddened to hear that Doug had lost his battle. I have fond memories of the fun times we all had in the years gone by. He was a great guy.

Dearest Kelly and the Hewton Family,
I was saddened to hear of Doug’s passing after a valiant battle wirh cancer. Doug was the “best man” at our wedding almost 20 years ago, and I considered myself extremely honored to know such a kind, caring and compassionate person, with a heart of gold. Doug’s contagious laughter, smile and his love for life will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.

My deepest sympathy goes to Doug’s family, and to Kelly and her family. Doug was a great guy and an even better friend. I will always remember his big smile and an even bigger heart. I have only the fondest memories of Doug, and will miss him dearly.

So sorry to hear about Doug’s passing my thoughts and prayers are with you. Doug is at peace now. As I am away now I will not be able to attend the memorial but always know that I will toast Doug on our sharied birthday.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Doug, my classmate from grade 2 through high school. Through our elementary school years, Doug was a close friend, both of us biking to the Binder Twine, hitch hiking to caddie at the Bolton G.C., and even swimming at the downtown dam. I remember Doug even had a pet raccoon. Doug was my teammate on our school track team. With those long legs, he was an awesome athlete.
Doug is one of the originals who still lived in our subdivision for over 50 plus years, while I moved on to Oakville a few years ago.
My sincere compassion extends to the whole Hewton family.
