Peacefully at King Nursing Home, Bolton on Sunday, September 15, 2019, Donald Shoemaker, in his 92nd year, beloved husband of the late Mabel Hitchin and Joan Wyse. Loving father of Charles and his wife Joan of Madison, Wisconsin; John and his wife Debbie of Westlock, Alberta. Cherished grandfather of Kenji, Austin, Christopher, and Susan. Dear brother of Norman, of Burlington; Alfred, of Brighton. Fondly remembered by his niece Dianne and her husband Ed Schneider, Bobcaygeon.
The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Thursday evening 5 – 8 o’clock.
Funeral Mass will be held in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 60 Allan Drive, Bolton on Friday morning, September 20 at 10 o’clock. (leaving funeral home at 9:45 a.m.).
Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 7300 Hwy. 27, Woodbridge.

Our condolences to all of you upon Don’s death. What a cheerful, encouraging and faithful man! He will be missed on earth but certainly will do his part in eternity for all souls.

I’ll miss you old friend. We chipped thousands of pounds of potatoes for the Lions booth together. We cooked tons of monsters for the steaknlobster dinner.
Don was a very sweet and special man who volunteered with Caledon Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. His dedication to his community and his drive to help others will always be remembered by all of us who knew him. Our hope is that happy and special memories of Don bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Sending my condolences to the Shoemaker family. I had the pleasure of meeting Don at the bank. He was a regular visitor after his retirement and he provided such support and knowledge. He gave to his community in so many ways and always included everyone. He was a kind, friendly and thoughtful person. He will be missed.
