Beverley and family. Our sincerest condolences in your loss. As soon as he arrived in Caledon East from Hamilton, he wasted no time and soon transferred to Council 10614. Don was always ready to support in any way with the Knights of Columbus, especially when he marched as a 4th degree on Rememberance Day. Beverley, you and Don made such a lovely couple, always together, very active in the community. We were blessed to have known Don. He will be missed by so many. Rest in peace Don and keep smiling, especially with the angels now.

Michael, Kelly, Paul, Don, Tim, Bev, and Family,
Warm hugs and sincere condolences from Finland. I’m thinking of all of you during this difficult time.
I have so many fond memories of Donald, far too many to list here, and as recent as September this year when I was fortunate and grateful to have visited your family in Caledon.
Growing up with you all and having you as my 2nd family has been a true blessing and an honour for me. I will always remember the kindness shown and cherish the life lessons and sports knowledge I’ve gained from Donald and his AM Radio.
The world could use more Donald Joseph Staceys.
Rest Peacefully.

Dear Stacey family (my second childhood family) So sorry for your loss. I loved him to bits. I have very fond memories running around Wingarden then back to your house to raid Mr Stacey’s stash in the garage 🙂 Fav story about him… he took me to get stitches when I was very young and he gave me a whole fullsize chocolate bar to myself, it was a Sweet Marie and helped me through the whole thing. Xo

Michael & Family, my sincere condolences to you all. Mr. Stacey was always smiling and happy and always greeted us kids with such kindness and generosity! We would all be running around Wingarden courts! He knew all of us! And we couldn’t wait for him to open the garage in hopes of finding some “extra” gum to share!
Memories last forever! Love to you all.

Our sincerest condolences in your loss. I met him thru the Kinghts of Columbus and I enjoyed listiening his experiences.
He always took the time to talk to me. It seemed to have boundless energy and a great example of a good Catholic gentleman and Brother Knight. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

I hadn’t seen Don for several years after he and Beverley moved from Hamilton. Don and I shared a grandson, Patrick. Don was very good at encouraging Patrick in sports. Mostly basketball and I was often invited by Don to attend these events. Don and I used to have a game of golf out at Chippewa golf club from time to time. Neither of us were great golfers but no matter how badly we played, Don just seemed to enjoy the outing and the friendship, as did I. No matter what might have been troubling us in our daily lives, Don had this personality where laughter and smiles would always bubble up to the surface. His enthusiasm and cheerfulness was uplifting.
A life well lived Don.
Rest in peace.

For the sake of brevity, here are two short stories about my Papa Donald Joseph Stacey, that truly still inspire me. When I was 7 or 8 or maybe 9.. I had this idea of building a robot to help Grandma around the house. This is how supportive this man is that right away he started amassing any and all parts that we might need to achieve this goal. Now when I was still quite young I really believed we were going to build it! As I got older my focus for that project began to wane, but Papa was still saving pieces of this or that, lawnmowers, anything with spare gears, and anything else that might one day translate to helpful robot. At around that point, I realized he had never simply been humouring me. He really truly believed we were going to build that robot.(I am the 2nd oldest grandchild so no blaming old age). As incredible as that sounds I know he always fully believed.

#2…
I have never met anyone more devoted to their faith than my Papa. As someone so devoted to faith, this really marks him as the best person I have ever met: He allowed me, in fact welcomed me to bring books from eastern religion, to his table. He welcomed me to share with him verses or ideas I found meaningful, and he shared with me the paralells with his own faith. I thanked him before I left that weekend and he looked at me and said “There are many roads to my fathers house”. He was always on the side of love and of growth. I dont think he knew doubt. He certainly never gave it the time of day.
