Condolence from Jane Johnson on January 27th, 2013 9:02 am

I am sure in the weeks, days and months to come the word gentleman will come up frequently. It is a word that described Del so completely. I played tennis with Del in the latter years of his life. As we got ready to go on the court he would always have a joke for me and then proceeded to annihilate me with his spin serve. His life had its trials and tribulations but he always was positive and spoke lovingly of his family.
He was in my life but for a season but I will remember him for a lifetime.

Jane Johnson

Eleanor, Lisa, Jacqueline, Raymond,

I will remember Del as gentleman who could strike up a conversation with anyone, and listen at the same time. A true gentleman. We’ll miss him. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Condolence from Anne Cuff on January 27th, 2013 9:01 pm

Del was a model that we all should follow – kind, gentle, positive & acceptance. Playing tennis with Del, he was always encouraging me & quietly gave me suggestions to improve my shots. What a gentleman & what a beautiful smile that I will always remember.

Condolence from Bill Harrington on January 27th, 2013 9:07 pm

What a delightful guy….I remember him helping to run the most successful Studebaker franchise in Canada..and as the genial host at that motel in Barrie. Also remember our super cruise on the family yacht on the Rideau Canal drinking “Ewings” whatever the hell they were. Did he still mix them?
Regrets
Bill….

Condolence from Chris McKittrick on May 23rd, 2013 11:57 am

I had the pleasure of working with Delbert in the latter part of his career, as well as seeing him socially at Mayfair. He possessed a unique combination of gentle wisdom and kindness with very astute commercial instincts, a rarity in today’s business world.

He also helped me during a personal loss and his guidance and solace supported me through a difficult time.

I am honoured to have known Delbert, and my kindest wishes go to his family.

Chris
