David

On Monday, February 28, 2011 and in his 40th year, David Paul Wieringa of Orangeville entered into the glorious presence of Jesus his Saviour. David will be greatly missed by his parents Jim and Maria Wieringa of Bradford (formerly of Orangeville), his sister Mary and her husband Peter Bosman, his sister Kathy and her husband Rudy de Vries, his brother Jim and his wife Rachel, and nineteen nieces and nephews. David was a long time resident of Community Living Dufferin. Many have developed a special love for this loveable young man and he reciprocated that love in his own special ways. David’s family would like to publicly express its gratitude to the staff of Community Living Dufferin William St House who loved and cared for David until his recent transfer to Holland Christian Homes – Grace Manor in Brampton. Gratitude is also offered to the volunteers and staff of Anchor Camp for providing David’s highlight of each year and to the staff of Grace Manor who loved and served David during his final weeks with us. Above all we praise our heavenly Father who gave us David and who has now taken him unto Himself because of Jesus’ sacrificial love for him.

Friends and family are invited to visit with David’s family at Egan Funeral Home Baxter & Giles Chapel, 273 Broadway, Orangeville (519) 941-2630 on Thursday, afternoon 2 – 4 and evening 7 – 9 o’clock. The funeral service will be held in the Christian Reformed Church, 50 Blind Line, Orangeville on Friday morning, March 4 at 11 o’clock. Spring interment Greenwood Cemetery. David’s pastor, Reverend Maurice Luimes of Immanuel Reformed Church, Nobleton will officiate at the funeral. In David’s memory, the family invites you to consider a financial donation to Anchor Association, Anchor Camp, 361 Thirty Road, Beamsville L0R 1B2. Condolences for the family of “David Paul Wieringa”

Condolence from Shirl Hutchinson on March 2nd, 2011 1:07 pm

It was an honour to have had the opportunity to have shared a very ‘wee’ walk in David’s life … the love of his family was inspiring … as I am sure were the lessons David taught others throughout his life …

I see you ‘free’ from all of life’s encumbrances now David … and at joyous peace … until another day perhaps we shall meet again …

Condolence from Sheryl Chandler on March 2nd, 2011 2:34 pm

My thoughts are with you and your family during this time of transition. David was a wonderful soul and his presence is missed. We were fortunate to have him in our lives for as long as we did.

God Bless

Condolence from Grace Brouwer on March 2nd, 2011 6:17 pm

Dear Rudy and Kathy,
Thank you for letting us know about David’s passing to glory. I will never forget your sharing of love and stories about David while you were living here. Even though we never met David, his legacy lives on in our hearts. We were encouraged by you, when John was young…with your love and compassion that you had learned with David in your family. Truly, what a blessing that he was raised in a Christian home with such a caring family.
Love and prayers to you and your family…
Grace and Gary Brouwer

Condolence from Mark & Jessica Postma on March 2nd, 2011 6:22 pm

Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family during this time. Having a handicap uncle ourselves we know how hard it is to see them suffer and it is a blessing to know that David is now jumping and leaping and praising God.
In Christ, Mark and Jessica Postma

Dear Jim and Maria and Family

We go back a long way and it shocked me to see that Dave went to be with the Lord. We just turned the Anchor Camp Calendar over and saw his picture with a beautiful smile. That is the way I will remember him. You will sure miss him, but we all know that he is happy in heaven.
Ik wens jullie heel veel sterkte in the komende tijd.
Love Gail

Condolence from Mary Barlow on March 3rd, 2011 2:41 am

Dear Maria and Jim…

It was an absolute pleasure working with David over the last two years, and equally, the pleasure of meeting you both. David was surrounded by people who loved him dearly, and this was quite obvious with his family. I miss seeing him at work every day, and somehow I believe he is in heaven now, riding a bicycle, playing ball and running……….he is free………..bless you all….

Sincerely,
Mary xo

You don’t know me…but I wanted to offer my deepest condolence to your family…I have recently lost a loved one and I share in your sadness.

Condolence from Allister and Jean Lucas & family on March 3rd, 2011 3:28 pm

To lose a loved one is sad but to lose a loved one who is very special is a greater loss never-the-less we can say as with the apostle Paul so with David ‘ it is absent from the body but present with the Lord’.

Remembering one and all at this time.

Allister & Jean Lucas & family

Condolence from Rudy and Mary Enter on March 4th, 2011 3:48 am

Dear Wieringa clan;
We pray for the Lord’s comfort for you all in your loss of David, who was a special, unique blessing in your family. Our particular memory of David goes back to the late 70’s in Woodbridge. At the end of worship services he would eagerly rush from the pew to stand with great joy by the organ for the final lines of the doxology and then through the whole postlude. He unfailingly enjoyed that, gently swaying to the music with a contented look on his face. It makes us realize, this time he has just made one more, final rush, at the end of his life’s service, to stand beside his Savior and Lord….. Just imagine the blissful peace on his face now!

Condolence from Ron and Lori Visser on March 4th, 2011 5:50 pm

I(Lori) have lots of memories of David from visiting in your home all those years! Remember David with those big headphones on, with the music on full volume!!! There will be a space left that won’t be filled, but what a blessing to know that he’s in the presence of the Lord, whole and free of pain! And one day you’ll all be together again. May the Lord comfort and bless you.
Much love from Ron and Lori
