Condolence from Lindsey on May 3rd, 2022 9:07 am

I had the honour of working with David for a year at MHC. Every week over FaceTime, we would chat with a resident and talk about how our week was going. We would do our weekly fortune cookie and discuss about it. I also had the honour of looking over menus for David and choosing what would be good for his monthly meet ups. David is going to be greatly missed by me and everyone at MHC. Our last conversation was talking about volunteer appreciation month and how grateful we are for his service.

David, Kevin and Cindy : Deeply saddened by the news of your father’s passing ! We got to know your folks 40 years ago when I moved my Dental practice to Nobleton and transferred to the Nobleton Lions Club.He was always so kind and encouraging during those years. He became my Dentist until my daughter, Dr Vanessa Hollander, joined my practice. Your folks welcomed us into their home and along with many Lions social functions , we had many good times! I still remember his antique Volkswagen “Bug” that he drove in the summer months! I always looked up to your dad and admired him for his kind nature and willingness to be a hard working volunteer! As a colleague, friend and Lions member we will miss him! May all these good memories help sustain you thru this difficult time. of loss! We extend our sincere condolences to you all. I was so saddened to learn of the passing of David Harper, David volunteered with me at Mackenzie Health for the length of time he was there and was always willing to help and lend a hand to any of the out patients, staff or visitors that would come through out doors to the Information desk where I was stationed and still there. Always with a welcoming smile. I am so sorry for your loss at this time but know that he is now with his beloved Greta and now you have two very special Angels looking down and still protecting you.

Condolence from Naomi Furukawa on May 9th, 2022 12:18 pm

Sorry to hear about David. I was his first Dental Nurse for 5 years until I had my children. We both graduated the same year at university. He was great to work with as we joked around much to his father’s chagrin. My three children all went to him until he retired. He was a great Dentist. I have fond memories of him and I hope you are comforted by the many good memories you have too.

My father, Stephen Kavanaugh and Dave Harper were childhood friends since Kindergarten.
They both went to mass each day throughout their childhood. Dave was a very good friend
and remained so even after they both married and had families. Dave’s children and
grandchildren can be proud of his many accomplishments and charitable works.
On behalf of Stephen, thank you Dave and God bless.

Condolence from Nancy Hopkinson on January 11th, 2023 2:52 pm

David Harper was our local Councillor for Nobleton and Laskay years ago. He was a wonderful man and after he retired from being a dentist, he could be found as a volunteer helping to direct people at Mackenzie Health hospital and helping with the Nobleton Lions’ Club. During COVID, he was often doing an exercise class on Zoom, so I would see him when I participated. Once the Zoom exercises ended, I thought that he might like to join the in person exercise classes at Nobleton Arena. Since he was not attending, I contacted him, thinking that perhaps he could not drive. However he assured me that he still drove, but he only wanted to do exercises in private in his home. Later he came to Nobleton United Church to pick up a Pasta Dinner, so I did see that he was still driving. So sorry that he is gone.
