Suddenly in his 102nd year on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Headwaters Hospital, Orangeville. Much-loved father of daughter Susan Dean and son Andrew Caple, Poppy to David Dean (Amanda) and great-grandchildren Liam, Parker, and Elora. Predeceased by wife Maureen (Monty), and brothers Clifford, Nigel, Ken, Norman, and twin Donald.

Born in London, England, David was apprenticed to the Bristol Aircraft Corporation in 1939, emigrated to Canada in 1947 where he joined A.V. Roe Canada. That same year he met Monty, also from England, and they married in 1949. David worked his way up to Vice President of Hawker-Siddeley Canada, from which he decided to take early retirement in 1984. David and Monty continued to enjoy their sixty years together on their farm. David was a true English gentleman, soft-spoken, mentor to some and a friend to all, and well-respected by his peers. Retirement allowed him to enjoy his horses, and adopt the many stray cats that found their way to the farm. He was an accomplished self-taught pianist and composer. Lover of the Big Band era, he played saxophone in a dance band when first in Canada.

A special thank you to Dr. El Khouly, and to all the staff at the Davis Centre, including Dr. Sivapalan and Dr. Cherian. Heartfelt thanks to Christina, Maria, Cindy, Suzie, and Camille.

Cremation has taken place.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Caledon Animal Shelter, or the charity of your choice.

It was an honour to care for him. A man who felt like my own dad, a true English gentleman in every way. At 102 he carried a lifetime of wisdom, grace, and quiet strength. In his passing, the world has lost a rare soul, and I’ve lost someone who will forever be in my heart.
David you are now with your beloved Monty and with our Lord.
