OSullivan for card

Born July 2, 1966 – Toronto, Ontario

David passed away suddenly on September 27, 2019 at the age of 53 years. Born in Toronto, Ontario on July 2, 1966 to Anna O’Sullivan (nee Wieczorek) and Barry O’Sullivan, and lovingly raised in Bolton, Ontario with his step-mother Sharon O’Sullivan. David was one of nine children and is survived by his brothers Douglas (Deb), Daniel, Terry (Margaret), Kevin (Brent) and sisters Laura (Jim), Anne Marie (Derryl) and Joanne (Cyrus). He is predeceased by his brother Sean. David and his twin sister Laura were extremely close from the start. He will be greatly missed by all of his close family. An avid sportsman in his youth, once David finished high school in Brampton, Ontario, he immediately showed his passion for the culinary arts. He began his career as an accomplished chef and although his heart was in cooking for the people he loved, he was also well loved as resident chef at the Peel Manor Senior’s Facility. And not only for his cooking – David prided himself on brightening the residents’ day with a joke or a smile. Much like his father, he had an ability to talk to anyone, and he was kind and friendly to everyone he met. David will be missed dearly by the many friends he made throughout his successful career. David loved all animals, big and small. As a child, he would rescue mice from around the yard and try to nurse them back to health, much to the smiling chagrin of his mother. As an adult, he once coaxed a baby skunk that wandered onto his deck to try his spaghetti sauce – and instantly had another fan of his cooking. This love of animals carried forward into his adult life, and his beloved dogs Dozer and Isis were by David’s side until the end.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) on Wednesday evening October 2nd, from 6 o’clock until time of celebration of life in the chapel at 7 o’clock. Followed by a reception. Condolences may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, David would have been delighted if you would make a donation to Brampton Humane Society, in honour of his life-long love for animals. Donations can be made at www.brampton.ca/EN/residents/Animal-Services/Pages/Donations.aspx.

~ Rest in Peace David ~

Condolence from Little Danny on September 30th, 2019 6:22 pm

David, the O’Sullivan’s and all the Bolton friends were family to us. Played many days and evenings on Leonard street with David and all the others. Great times. Our family moved to Dundalk and on one visit from David he presented me with a home made sailboat. Awesome friend. Turns out it sunk in the river but we had a blast.

Condolence from Corinne Breen on September 30th, 2019 6:27 pm

Dear O’Sullivan Family,
We are very sorry to hear such sad news about David. Dave was like another son to my mom and dad and was my brother Mike’s best friend for the majority of their lives. He was welcome at our house when we lived in Bolton. I am glad that he got the chance to visit Mike out in Alberta a few years ago. Mike is very upset to lose his best friend from childhood and we are also saddened by the loss. David is in a better place and we will not forget all the fun times that we had with him.
Sincerely,
Scott, Sean and Marlene Kennelly

I met Dave walking Dozer and Isis everywhere and they would stop into my work and I’d always have to come out and say hi. He took those dogs everywhere with him. I remember Dave calling me when Brandy was having her puppies. He was so excited he had such a great heart!
He was so friendly and easy to talk to. He would tell me to bring my son by to help with the puppies, showing him how to feed them with a bottle. He was so kind hearted. I will miss seeing him walking with the dogs. We will miss you Dave. May you rest in Peace

Condolence from Erin O’Sullivan on October 2nd, 2019 8:35 am

Uncle Barry, Aunt Sharon and family….I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am for you loss. I didn’t have many opportunities to get to know David, but I will never forget the time he stayed at our farm in Troy. I was probably 12 or so and just thought he was the coolest guy ever. I remember telling him about someone saying my nose was long . He assured me that it wasn’t, and that, in fact, it was the other person who had a long nose. :). I can’t imagine what you are going through losing such a lovely soul at such a young age. You are all in my thoughts. Rest in peace David, my super-cool, wonderful cousin.

Condolence from Janice Kollhosser/Borden on March 10th, 2022 1:28 pm

Barry, Sharon and family
My sincerest regrets to you all for enduring 2 immense losses in such a short time. And, excuse my tardiness, but I just found out this morning. How I knew David was he played hockey with my brother, Stephen Kollhosser, we also went to the same school and same church, AND, I too am a twin.

The last time I saw David, he was in high school, ironically, cooking in a restaurant at Queen and Allan. We had a brief conversation but, he had to go back to work. I do remember thinking, what a beautiful, intelligent young man he turned out to be.

And then last night, March 9, 2022, I woke up 3 times THINKING OF DAVID O’SULLIVAN! ???
As strange as this sounds, I had to share this with you.

Again, my deepest sympathies to you, Barry and Sharon, because the order of deaths are SOOO wrong, and to you Laura, losing your twin is as bad as your Dad and Sharon losing their sons

Hold each other tightly and never let go!
God Bless you all!!!
