With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Conrad Joseph Bourgeois, age 92, on January 31, 2021 at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood, Ontario. Born in 1928 in Cocagne, NB, son of the late Wilfred and Domethilde (Leger) Bourgeois. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Mary Lou (Hebert) Bourgeois and step children Kathy (Paul), Stella, Phyllis, Monique (Dan), Maurice (Corey), his adored grandson Dylan (Andrea) and great-grandson Julian. Also missed by his many other grandchildren, daughter-in-law Carole-Ann and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his sister Mercia of Moncton, NB. Predeceased by his first wife Shirley, his son David, and brothers Ronald, Ulysse, Rodrique and Bernard. After a long and distinguished career with Correctional Services Ontario, Conrad enjoyed a happy and fruitful retirement, filled with travelling and family get togethers in his beloved New Brunswick.
One of nature’s true gentlemen, his memory we will always treasure, in our hearts he will stay forever. Due to the current COVID19 situation there will not be a funeral. However, there will be a celebration of life at some point in the future when larger gatherings are allowed. My sincerest condolences to Mary Lou and family. Conrad was a valued person in my life, he was a fellow Knight of Columbus, member of St. Timothy Parish. A friend who though not seen often in recent years it was alway a wonderful experience when our paths did cross. He was a kind and generous spirit.
May his soul be carried to heaven by the Angels where he will he will bask in the light of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Our condolences to all of the family. Uncle Con was a treasured relative and will be sorely missed by our family. He spend time with us when he totally renovated our bathroom in Claremont. He would hold and play with our children (babies back then) before and after dinner when he worked all day at our house. We have so many happy memories of him and he was a wonderful man to be around.
Hoping to see all the family at the celebration of life when it can be scheduled in the future.

Our next-door neighbour for many years in Wildfield, Con became part of our family history when one day he dropped in and saw Mom working on her painting of “the agony in the garden” Trying to get the light right she used her finger to spread the paint. Con looked at her and said” my mother paints but she uses a brush!

I was a cousin of Con’s first wife, but was closer to him than her and he really was a great guy!!! After I lost my husband to cancer, he was always wanting to help me with any building problems with my house and we kept in touch even after he wasn’t able to come down this way anymore!!!! My heart goes out to you, Mary Lou, and I know how much he appreciated you and I know his last years were so happy due to you!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and both his and your family, who were so good to him!!!

To the Bourgeois family,
My heart just dropped with discovering this news of Con’s passing. Con was a great & wonderful neighbour in Wildfield. Dad & Con were very active members of the Knights of Columbus and had often driven together to Brampton for their meetings. Our family has know Con for decades and have several pictures of him and my Dad with other members of the Knights performing an official duty at a celebration at St. Patrick’s school or church. Us kids played games with Shirley and her nieces when they would stay with the Bourgeois -those were fun days and us kids looked forward to them arriving. Con was extremely helpful if there was a repair to be fixed, a room to be painted, a pipe to be welded. He was amazing! We were heartbroken when their son David died then Shirley years later. That was devastating to all of us neighbours. We continued our friendship when Con left Wildfield and then travelled north to Orangeville. Well, our hearts are broken now that Con has died but our memories are so many. We will miss him terribly and will remember his constant smile and friendship. Please accept our condolences. We will miss Con.
