There is never the right words to say because such a thing is so unbelievably tragic and completely without explanation. I know she was loved and I’m sure she knew that. Please know you are too and if you need anything even if just to talk I am here.

My heart goes out to Cassandra’s family and friends. As a student in my class at Humberview she demonstrated integrity and honesty, compassion for others, and passion for what she believed in. She challenged herself and those around her to think critically by asking questions and seeking the truth. (She also made a wickedly tasty, nutritious no-bake date brownie with chocolate-avocado icing for a health class assignment, proving that you don’t need refined sugar to make a delicious treat.) I am so sad to hear this news. We have lost a wonderful young woman.
Our deepest condolences for the loss of your daughter. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I have known Cassie almost my entire life, having shared wonderful memories with her at both Palgrave Public School and Humberview Secondary School. I spent all of this time truly humbled by her remarkable ability to care for others and her passion to better the world. We lost a wonderful person far too soon, but Cassie will live on in our memories forever. Sending my thoughts and heartfelt condolences to the De Ruyte for this tragic loss.
Dear Dave, Amy and Family:

To the friends and family of Cassie,
I’m extremely saddened by the loss of such a beautiful soul. It was a blessing to have known her. Her voice was strong, her smile was bright, and heart was filled with compassion. She shared many treasures that I still hold dear to me- one of which is one of the most important inspirations for my music. She is a strong, permanent inspiration in my life, and I know she will be remembered with love and reverie.
Please accept all my love and condolences. This world has lost a beautiful, strong woman. I know her soul will remain with us, and I am most certain that she will never be forgotten. She has touched many people.
With love xo

My prayers go out to Cassie’s family and friends. She was never in one if my classes at Humberview, but I got to know her through her participation in leadership activities.
Please accept our deepest sympathy. Your family is in our prayers.
What heartbreaking news. Cassandra was a student of mine at Humberview and was such a beautiful young lady both inside and out. She had so much love to share with everyone who surrounded her and she was a strong advocate for equality and change. I will always remember the profound conversations we had and her ability to express herself through writing. She had just come back to visit earlier this year and to share her continued excitement for nutrition and travel. This is such a tragic loss.
My deepest condolences to the De Ruyte family.
Anne-Marie and family – there are no words to express what I want to say. I am so sorry for your loss.
Words can not covey how sad and sorry I am to hear about Cassie.
She was a beautiful girl inside and out and I enjoyed her spending time at our home.

My heart is so saddened today to hear about Cassie’s passing.
I remember your family and all your lovely daughters so well from Palgrave School.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Cassie’s passing. She was an incredibly compassionate person and her warmth and kindness was evident to all. She was a champion of all living creatures without a voice. especially animals, and was committed to making the world a better place. We will miss her and are sending love and support to all of her loved ones.
So very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Love to you all.
Dear De Ruyte Family,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Please know that I am praying for your family and asking that you would find comfort and peace in Christ in the midst of your mourning.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 34:18; 145:19; 147:3
You are loved,
Lucas
Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family
Our deepest condolences to your family for this sudden loss.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Pat, Sharon & Alex
Anne-Marie & family,
I am so very sorry for your loss – I cannot imagine a more difficult loss than the loss of a child.
My deepest condolences.
Martin & family
I am so sorry for your families loss. I can’t even begin to understand the feelings you’re all going through. I send you and my families deepest condolences and I’ll be keeping you all in my thoughts.
The news was so inconceivably shocking and wholly unfathomable. It’s unnatural and just cosmically wrong for a child to predecease a parent. Nothing can fill the void, but hopefully, the love and support of family and friends can provide some small comfort.
Our thoughts have been, and shall remain, with you and your family.
Tragic beyond comprehension.
Michael, Suzanne, Stephanie and Renée
My heart goes out to the entire family. When I taught Cassie back in Grade 4, I remember her as a wonderful easy-to-please child who always tried her best at everything. Cassie was a sweet lovely girl. She often smiled when I sang her name, “Cassandra Lucia” every time she put up her hand to answer a question.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
Dear Anne Marie,
There are no words that I have to console you and your family at the time. Your loss is one no parent ever dreams of. May your precious daughter live on in your hearts and be the guiding light that shines as your guardian angel. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May you hold strong and turn to each other for strength, for peace and for love.
Please accept My sincerest, deepest and most heartfelt sympathies,
Sandy Kockovski

I am so sorry to hear about Cassie’s passing. I taught her in grade 6 at Palgrave in my early days as a new teacher. She was always willing to help me out and was an “old soul” who was wise beyond her years. Please accept my sympathy and thoughts at this time.

The Dragonfly family is extremely saddened by the sudden passing of the lovely Cassandra. She was a very passionate and dedicated dance student, always pushing her limits, always giving her best and always eager to improve, experience, express and share her joy of dance; her energy was always up and a lovely smile always adorned her lovely face. Her sensitive self cared deeply for several causes and her light shone through the whole room every time she was in class or on stage. Our hearts are broken to hear this news and our thoughts, love and prayers go to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and dearly remembered by all her dance sisters.
Much love and our deepest sympathies,
Zahira, Ruyah, Anuka, Riannagh and all the students and staff at Dragonfly who had the joy of meeting and dancing with Cassandra.
I am very sorry to hear about Cassandra’s passing. I had the pleasure of teaching Cassie at Humberview a few years ago. Cassie was caring, kind, and always willing and ready to help. She will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Cassie’s friends and family.
I met Cassandra at the 2013 Woodstock Fruit Festival, which was a family friendly vegan retreat in Upstate New York. She and some other really nice ladies and I were all bunk mates in the same cabin. We spent the days attending seminars on health & fitness, and the nights dancing by a huge bonfire where (without alcohol or anything else) people just seemed to be high on life while having fun and being amongst hundreds of friends. I loved bunking with Cassandra, she was unforgettable. I remember admiring her free spirit and self confidence when she danced, it was really beautiful. I’m sorry the world lost such a wonderful soul. My thoughts and prayers for her friends and family.
My deepest condolences to the De Ruyte family.
Cassie and I had gone to elementary school together for 4 years we had become inseparable. I charish the memories we made together when all there was to worry about in life was how much raw cookie dough was too much and how late we could stay up and watch movies together. I can replay the days as they were yesterday and not 5 years ago.
Cassie was one of the most understanding and kind people I was ever glad to be friends with.
She will forever be missed but will always be in my heart.
Mom and I would like to offer our deepest heart-felt condolensces for the loss of this beautiful angel. She was a beautiful spirit and a kind and generous heart and there are no words to offer to ease the tremendous pain you must be feeling. We remember her wonderful laugh and warm embrace with fondness and hope that through time the pain will be eased. She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.
There are no words that I can truly say to console you and your family. My heart is breaking at your loss. I’m so sorry for both Dave and Amy. Losing a child is unimaginable and I know the road will be rough. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both and to Tina and Adrianna. My thoughts and prayers to you all.
I was Cassie’s friend for years, though we never met personally. We spoke every day for such a long time. We hadn’t spoken in a long while, and I was going to try to reconnect with her today. I can’t believe I’m here now, writing a condolence note. Words can’t go far enough.
Cassie was beautiful inside and out. She could make me scream with laughter from across a whole ocean. I adored her. She was kind, funny, bright. A day didn’t go by where there wasn’t something I was itching to tell her when I got home.
I’m so sorry to all of you.
