Wilson web

Born in Montreal on December 20, 1936, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 8, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Ron Wilson (Ron Wilson Construction Ltd).  Loving mother of Lynda (Ken Waring), Valerie (Tom Walker), and Mark (Amy). Proud Gramma of Carly White, Kyler, Savannah and Gabi.  Cherished sister of Ron Ingham.  Dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

Caryl loved all living things.  She always made sure that the wildlife in the backyard of her Nobleton home, where she lived for 57 years, never went hungry, especially her “chippies”, birds, bunnies and squirrels.  Her home was her happy place and it was always kept tidy and decorated with her favourite things.  Caryl had an exceptional artistic talent that was expressed in her early days through oil paintings, awesome Halloween costumes for her children, and volunteer work on backdrops for the end of season figure skating carnivals.  She had a remarkable flair for interior decorating and various crafts.  Her knitted sweaters and dolls were showpieces, but few of her family and friends knew the extent of her talents because she was incredibly modest.  Caryl loved to spend time outside in the warmer months.  Into her 87th year, she liked to keep busy with yard work.  She enjoyed her covered back porch, where she could sit rain or shine, often with an ice cream treat in hand.  A regular follower of local and global news, Caryl always kept up to date with current events.  She also kept her mind sharp with sudoku, Wordle and crosswords.  Caryl was always grateful to anyone who called, texted, emailed or dropped in just to chat.  She enjoyed the simple things in life.  Caryl’s kind heart and gentle soul will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A private family burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bolton.  We invite friends and family to join us for a celebration of life drop-in to take place between 1 and 4pm on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club, 125 Nobleton Lakes Drive, Nobleton.  Donations, if desired, may be made in Caryl’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, Toronto Humane Society or the Canadian Wildlife Federation.  Caryl was a loyal supporter of these organizations for decades.
