Carol Stubbs, a beloved Bolton, Ontario resident and winter enthusiast in Florida, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her winter home in Florida. She was born in Toronto, where she began her journey through life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She met her husband Jim (deceased 2005) in Bolton, and together they embarked on the journey of raising their two sons, Ken and Chris. Throughout their lives together, Carol and Jim created a home filled with love, laughter, and quite a few poodles who became cherished members of the family.

For many years, Carol dedicated herself to a career at the Bolton post office, where she served her community with dedication and grace. Upon her retirement, she embraced new passions, splitting her time between volunteering at the Caledon Kennel Association, cultivating a vibrant garden, and indulging in the simple pleasures of socializing with her wonderful group of friends. Carol’s infectious laugh and warm-hearted nature endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her sons, Ken (Judy) and Chris, Carol leaves behind her grandsons Tyler and Kieran, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her memory will also be cherished by her many friends, both in Canada and Florida, whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

The family will receive their friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton on Monday, April 22 from 2 o’clock until time of memorial service in the chapel at 3 o’clock.  Reception to follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation in Carol’s memory.

Condolence from Caroll Carter on April 16th, 2024 1:48 pm

O.K. Carol with one “l”, this certainly wasn’t supposed to happen yet! I and our group are shocked and deeply saddened. We were just getting ready to resume our dinners! It simply will not be the same without your quips, your laughter and the stories of the great deals only you could manage! To Ken and Chris, know how immensely proud of you both Carol was, and how appreciative she was of your willingness to make sure she got set up in Florida and then home again. My heart goes out to you both. Regardless of the circumstances, it is always devastating to lose a parent, but there was no warning for you. I cannot imagine! Carol will surely be missed by so many. To Ken, Chris and all the families, please accept my condolences. The world has lost one of the good ones.

So sad to hear of Carol’s passing. I have such great memories of living in Bolton, just around the corner from Carol and her wonderful family. And of course there was our joint love of dogs and the fun and hard work we put into the Caledon Kennel Association. Many long nights working on the dog show schedule at Colleen and Gary’s and of course the shows themselves. Too many memories to list. Rest in Peace Carol.

Condolence from Julie Simmons on April 21st, 2024 9:46 pm

Carol was a wonderful friend & neighbor. She had such a warm, calming presence and always made us feel like part of her family. She was always incredibly kind & generous to my siblings and my mother over the years. I’ll miss looking over and seeing her beautiful garden and hearing her dogs run around and play in the yard. I’ll miss her humour; her sharp wit and infectious laugh. She was one of a kind, loved by so many. She’ll be dearly missed. ❤️

Rest in peace, sweet Carol.

Condolence from Pat Cooper on April 21st, 2024 11:55 pm

Pat and I met Carol many years ago at a dog show in Thornhill. She told us about Grace Edwards who bred toy poodles. We went to see Grace and the litter and came home with Willie.
Carol told us that she would baby sit our dogs in her home. When we went on a holiday, Pat called Carol and asked how the boys were doing. In her inimitable way, Carol said that they ran away! She had to reassure Pat that they were safe and sitting with her watching tv and eating popcorn and that Pat didn’t have to organize a search party.
Carol was a character and made people comfortable in her company. Whenever we think or possibly hear the phrase “Puppy, puppy, puppy”, we’ll think of your mom and smile.
Pat Peters and Pat Cooper

Carol has been my client and dear friend for over 34 years. Carol was so full of life! We laughed and joked all the time. We also had horses in common, she would bring me treats for my gal.
She gave me her saddle and gifts from her garage! She would spoil my mom and me with thoughtful gifts for Xmas and birthdays. She enjoyed having my sister Bonnie maintain her lovely gardens. It’s fern time!

We had special stories we shared. I feel gifted to have known such a special lady. I really miss her already
She always spoke fairly highly of her sons and grandkids.
