It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bruce Harvey Wise share the news of his passing on Monday, November 9, 2020. Bruce, in his 90th year, has been reunited with his beloved wife the late Rosemarie Wise (nee Rernboeck). Dear brother of the late William T. Wise and the late Barbara Rowntree. Loving uncle of the late Barry, Ellen (late Jon), Liz (Scott), the late Tom (Pat), the late Doug, and Bruce (Michelle). Cherished great-uncle of Barbara (Julian), Andrew (Cindy), Jeff (Helen), Jodi, Dawson, and Raylanna. Dear great-great uncle of Ascenza, Adrianna, and Anara. Born in Woodbridge, Ontario (1930), attended Woodbridge Public School, and graduated from the Industrial programme at Weston Collegiate. At nineteen years of age, Bruce joined De Havilland Aircraft (Downsview) as a chaser, trained as a machinist, and retired after 43 years of dedicated service. Meeting the love of his life at 37, he married a few months later. Sharing his life with Rosemarie were the best years of his life. The matriarch of our family will be greatly missed. The family owe a huge debt of gratitude to ever-attentive caregiver Heike, his palliative care team nurse Jennifer and Dr. Gagnon, Jaspreet, and the assistance provided to him by LHIN.
Due to COVID, a private family funeral service will be held at Egan Funeral Home followed by cremation.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com.
In the summer 1953, Bruce and my cousin, Allan Bagg, were best buddies. They had permission to use Bradford’s (Red and White) cottage for a week-end and intended to bring their young lady friends. At that time, this wasn’t done without chaperones so they asked my parents, Lorne and Sue Gould, to chaperone and they agreed. I was just five years old at the time and the boys drove a convertible to the lake offering to take me along with them. My pride and joy was my cowboy hat held in place with a string and bead closure under my chin. Bruce convinced me that I had to ride in the convertible with the bead under my nose so it didn’t blow off during the trip!! I rode on his knee in the front seat (that was then) and every once in a while he’d “check” to ensure my nose was still there. It must have worked because it’s the same nose, now 72 years old! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared that story! As well, I often bumped into him at deH and also the Palgrave post office when my family lived there. I’m pleased to know he had a very good life.
An amazing soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven, away from us, but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness.

So sad for the family that all adored their uncle for so many years. He loved a Tim Horton’s coffee and a visit with his family members. I only met him and his wife a few times and you were always treated with a smile. May god bless the family at this time and we are thinking of you.
