Wright Brian Web Picture

June 10, 1949 – March 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Wright on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in his 73th year after a short illness.

Beloved husband of Roslyn Wright (nee Kightley). Cherished father of daughter Laura (Mark) Perry (nee Wright), predeceased by his mother Rachel Wright, and father Eric Wright. Much loved brother to Vivienne (Jim) Davidson. Much treasured brother-in-law to Robert (Ann) Kightley and Jim Kightley. Brian will be missed by an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends around Canada.

Brian was a true friend who was always ready with a joke, a story, or a helping hand. He never met a bug he couldn’t kill (legally, of course) or a piece of junk that couldn’t be made into amazing lawn art. His ability to relate to people and become your closest friend in a microsecond was uncanny and served him well in his career with serving customers in the pest control industry.  However, his ability with a rake, shovel, and wood in landscaping and beautifying yards was legendary and many a home of his friends and family proudly display the results of this talent! Bob Seger lost his biggest fan and we’re all grateful that Brian wanted to listen and not sing along!

Celebration of Life to be held in early spring with invitations to be sent at a later date. There will be a private cremation and internment at the family plot at the Barrie Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Bethell Hospice Foundation (foundation.bethellhospice.org) or the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca).

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to all of their friends and family for their support and love over the past three months. It takes a village to both raise a child and to care for a family losing a loved one. A special thanks to the amazing people at Bethell Hospice for the end-of-days care and attention for Brian.

Condolences for the family may be offered at www.EganFuneralHome.com

Condolence from Steve Nicholls on March 16th, 2022 5:32 pm

Brian, you were a treasure, and a mentor, and friend, when you rehired me back to PCO in 1985, from a earlier stint there as well, and gave me a full route to do in 2 weeks, in an area I was not familiar with, a Dodge D50, with the passenger window out of it, closed off with a green garbage bag, and gave me a 15 minute lesson on how to drive a standard in the back parking lot, every time we met, that was always brought up, it never grew old, either did your John Lennon shades and the old Vette Rip my friend, With deepest sympathy to Ros and his entire family

Condolence from Tom Cameron on March 16th, 2022 5:36 pm

My Condolences to Brian’s family. Brian was a true gentleman and colleague form the old PCO Services , who some of us older people recognize the name. Brian was a mentor always with a solution to a problem or just the ability to say Hello how are you doing. This is a huge loss to the Pest control industry and to society as we all know it.

Condolence from Sue Jessop on March 16th, 2022 11:55 pm

My deepest condolences to all of Brian’s family for your loss of a great man. He was a bright light and treasured gem in our local community!
When he strolled into my workplace to purchase birdseed there was always a greeting with his famous smile. I knew I was in for a nice visit with a few good laughs and would definitely hear about his latest triumphs in the pest control world! Such an expert in the pest control industry with a strong passion for his work.
Out would come his cell phone.. so proud of recent pictures to bring me up to date on family photos, events, the cool cars he enjoyed, woodworking projects, fabulous vacations, plus his family home with amazing pool and treasured gardens!

Brian you surely will be missed by all who knew you! Thanks for your smiles and the laughter. It always made my day!

Ros and Laura,

You know what Brian meant to us. He was a light in our lives just like yours and we are heartbroken and incredibly sorry for your loss. Brian was our mentor, best friend, comedian but most importantly “Uncle Brian” to the kids. They adored him. Our lives are better for having seen his zest for life, constant smile, encouragement of us, and his love for his “better half”. Laura, I know you have heard it before but the pride your father had for you, your accomplishments and talent was always admirable to us – you were so lucky! May all the incredible memories you have of Brian warm your hearts the way they will ours forever.

We are here for you always. Xox
