Condolence from Irene Ivanyshyn on April 28th, 2013 5:31 pm

Dear Lonnie,

Wishing you and your family my deepest sympathies. I can still see Bernie laughing at our kitchen table at Tandridge Cres. I think you took a picture of him. Say hello to everyone for me and give them my love.

Irene.

Dear Molly, Lonnie and Mary

Would like to express my sympathies to your Mom and your family
Bernie sure was a unique guy!! He always did it “My Way” like ol’ blue eyes used to say Hope the Leafs win this year as a tribute to him!!! (even though he wasnt a fan of them!!)
Will see you tomorrow
Love Dave and Jo-Annexx

Condolence from Mary Jean and Bill Van Dorp on April 29th, 2013 10:45 am

Dear Family

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Bernie whom we met 10 years ago. We are avid Leaf fans and he an avid Black Hawks fan. He will be cheering his team on and perhaps give them a little heavenly help on their trip to the Stanley cup. I just talk to him a day or so before and he gave me a jab about my team losing to 38 year old guys on the Tampa Bay. Our deepest sympathy to the family

Mary Jean

His thoughts and some freeze frames live on with all of us.
I remember the look he gave me in the Beaver Bread garage when he found out I topped up a truck battery with a bottle of brake fluid the day after the bread delivery driver called in, stranded.
Everytime I see a bad behaving coke machine, I remember his solution for it.
I used to remember him often in stalled downtown Toronto traffic, taking on a streetcar from the opposite way.
I think of the Elvis curl of the lip he could give to take you in any emotional direction he wanted.
But most of all he and I guess his older brothers had to be the first influence of a big loud record collection on me. An influence in becoming a professional sound recordist and later with film and video that is still a gratifying hobby to this day on Facebook.
