Deepest condolences to the family !!

A wonderful cousin and a truly capital man who we lost much to soon. Forever in our hearts. We share in your grief and send our best – you are all surrounded by our love.

Barry was our dear friend and cottage neighbor in Muskoka. We shared many meals ,beverages and good conversation during the summer months. we will miss him especially when we get together with Janice, Katie, Cory and Edwin.
May his soul rest in peace.

Truly an Officer and a Gentleman, and my oldest friend from a time before we had families of our own. Even then, Barry was an individual who upheld a code of ethics that made him shine.

To Barry, dear friend, believe that you will never be forgotten.

To Jan, Katie, Cory and Teddy, please know that I will always cherish and remember the special person your Sweetheart , Father and Grandfather was. My deepest condolences to Aunt Janice, Katie, Cory and Teddy for their loss. Uncle Barry (UB as we like to call him) was a wonderfully supportive and loving Uncle to my brothers and I. We could always count on him to be there to support us through all of our big life events and we will miss him terribly.

I was very saddened to hear of Barry’s passing.

Barry and I started our flying careers together. We were roommates when we were first hired at Air Canada some 47 years ago. I have many good memories of Barry both at Air Canada and in the Air Force. He will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Janice, Owen and the Stewart Family.

Barry was a great friend, he would listen to our stories and worries, offering a kind word or advise. As a brand new Second Officer at Air Canada, I had the pleasure to fly with him on many occasions, he had the ability to make you feel a vital part of the crew. We also flew together at 400 Sqn, it has already been said that he was a real officer and a gentleman, something he has proven many times.

My deepest condolences on the passing of a much loved husband, father and grandfather. I could tell he enjoyed his time with Edwin and sharing special traditions.

Barry seemed like the kind of person who was ready to help. The accommodations created for the adopted furry family members were comfortable and well constructed.

He had interesting stories a great laugh. I’ve yet to see shoes more polished than his.

I hope it will soon be possible to get together in celebration of his life.

We are deeply saddened by Barry’s passing. He was far too young to leave both his family and friends. We remember so well his laughter, his quirky smile and his love of company at his home when we visited.
We enjoyed many discussions with him regarding the books he was reading and the writing he so loved to do.

My deepest condolences to Janice and family, and to Owen.

I was born on August 16, 1951 and Barry; 3 days later. Although in different areas of Toronto we both went through the Air Cadet program with different squadrons. Our lives came together in 1969 when we both won a flying scholarship and learned to fly together in Kingston Ontario. We continued our friendship and passed our Aircrew Selection with the Canadian Armed Forces.

Together we boarded the airplane to start the two year process. Through some of that time we were roommates. On December 10, 1971 we graduated with our military wings and flew for 400 squadron in Toronto. During the early days, I had the pleasure of meeting Owen.

Barry started a career with Air Canada and I; with CP Air only to finally end up in an Air Canada uniform. My life evolved in Vancouver and as things happen, we were not in touch.

I am truly very saddened.

I flew one trip with Barry many years ago and by flying with him, I met a consummate gentleman as well as a calm, professional and knowledgeable pilot. I most enjoyed flying with a man blessed with a curious and thoughtful mind – Barry knew lots about many things.

To Owen and family. I was saddened to hear of Barry’s passing. I grew up with Barry on Mossford. As kids, we played together with the Currie boys and Steve Mess.
