Sorry to hear of the loss of Arnie. We are sorry that we will be unable to attend Arnie’s Funeral Service on Thursday as Clarence has to work that day until 2 P.M. But you take care and will talk to you soon.

It was with great sadness hearing of Arnie’s passing. My mother Noella is a resident of the Avalon and every time I visit her it was always nice being greeted by Arnie in the front lobby, always had kind words. He will be missed by myself, and my family members….rest in peace Mr Holmes.

When my dad passed away Arnie was one of the only people that offered me help in my time of need.He was a great friend. Rest in peace.Holy Baldy. Stiller

Aunt Gwen, Dave and Barb and family. Thinking of you at this time. I have many fond memories of Uncle Arnie for his sharp wit and unmistakable laugh. That laugh is likely the most imprinted memory of Kennedy Christmases of the past. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Just wanted to say you are in my thoughts at this time. Sorry I never knew Arnie and also am not able to attend his funeral.
Do take care of yourself and we’ll see at our next gathering at my place in August.

Only knew Arnie from our visits to the Avalon to visit our Mom who resides in there. He always greeted us with a big hello and enjoyed having brief chats about the weather, hockey and/or current events. His laugh was contagious and he almost always seemed in a good mood. His happy demeanour will be greatly missed, as will his helpfulness to the Avalon in turning off the lights. 🙂 May you rest in peace, Arnie. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

I still remember how funny is was when we were just kids.
Arnold was my favorite uncle.
Time moves us in different directions but I still look back fondly on times that we spent together.

Gwen & family….I was very sorry to hear of Arnie’s passing. I was very much involved in sports in town and always remember Arnie and his cow bell at the arena. I was also your letter carrier for years when you lived on McCarthy St. behind the arena. Please know that GOD is with you all during these difficult times, you are in my prayers, GOD BLESS……….John

Aunt Gwen I will always remember uncle Arnald and you walking into grandma and grandpas house on McCarthy ST with your little pup Daisy at christmas time with the lime green car, Uncle Arnald would come in and was always be so cheerfull and joking, Aunt Gwen you are in my prayers… Michael

Dear family of Arnie Holmes, It was a pleasure to have known Arnie for the past few years. I was one of the night charge nurses and I got to know Arnie very well. When I would leave in the morning After nights I would always stop at the table at the front where I would find Mary and Arnie and a couple of other residents, we would chat for a good half hour, I would bring them up to speed on sports or what my husband and I had been doing since I saw them last. As we chatted Arnie would be busy taking residents to the dining room for breakfast or chores doing other little things for residents that needed that extra little help. Then he would let me know when my husband would pull up to the door to take me home. I retired in January of this year and I heard that Arnie was failing so I went in to see him on July 5th and even though I have been away for six months he called me by name and shook my hand and hoped I would be back soon to visit. When I saw his notice in the paper I was so glad that I had that last visit with him. I will always remember his smile and his laugh. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and we will always have wonderful memories of him. Yours sincerely Joan and Don Logan

Sorry to read of Arnie’s passing. I remember when he used to follow the Caledon East base ball games.

I always said hi to Arnie at the front door when going to Avalon to visit my sister Brenda.My wife & I always enjoyed talking & joking with him,loved to talk lacrosse,he always was interested in how the Northmen were doing.We miss his humor & laugh.Rest in peace Arnie.Bob & Carol Bovaird
