We are sorry for your loss but realize that Annie had a long wonderful life. I spent most of the first twelve years of my life on the farm and have many fond memories of that time, including great farm breakfasts (after chores of course) .

We are so very saddened to learn of Aunt Annie’s passing.

We are presently traveling out of country and most regrettably, are unable to return to Canada in time to attend tomorrow’s service. Please accept our sincerest apologies.

Until his mid-teens, Wayne spent much of his abundant idle time at the farm – meals included. He was oftentimes a handful (with Kent’s assistance), testing Uncle Art and Aunt Annie’s considerable patience! They were always so very generous and forgiving. And no better pies and cakes could be found in the village than those that came from Aunt Annie’s oven. Actually, it was an even match with those made by Aunt Doris!

The years have physically distanced us from a favourite auntie, but she nonetheless has a permanent place in our hearts.

God bless you Aunt Annie. You will be forever missed, but always remembered.

How lucky we were to be born in the village of Nobleton where the south outskirts were Art and Annie’s farm. The back pastures were an adventure and the barn and the big brick house always intrigued us kids. Being at her one hundredth birthday flooded me with all the memories of the amazing folk who like them always seem to know who done what and when….it was never the Westbrook boys…just saying…Thank you Annie and Art and all the folks of your generation who looked after us kids in town.

So sorry to hear of Annie’s passing, She certainly had a long and wonderful life, and we want to send our heartfelt thoughts to all her family.

So many happy memories come to mind spending time at the Hill cottage on Isabel Lake even in the early days when they lived in their camper trailer. There were many family dinners together, and of course Annie and my mother spent many happy times together bowling and at the Nobleton W.I. Always kind and welcoming with a wonderful smile, it was a pleasure to have grown up knowing Annie. One of the fondest memories I have of Annie is her delicious caramel pies – they were the best!!
A life well lived, all peace Annie.

Annie Hill was a faithful member of Nobleton United Church and very involved in the activities. She was one of a number of quilters who got together to create beautiful quilts to raise funds for the United Church Women’s group. When I first started going to Nobleton United (1974), there was a women’s group that went bowling together. These ladies were amazing at bowling. I was in awe, as I watched my ball go down into the gutter, but they could get strikes consistently. After living at the farm, Annie moved to Nobleview Pines, on Wilsen Rd. in Nobleton. Her great friend and sister-in-law Doris Hill lived there too. Eventually Annie moved to Bracebridge as she needed more care. We at Nobleton United were thrilled when Annie and Doris decided to come back to our church to celebrate their 100th birthdays. They were very close in age. I was sorry to miss Annie’s funeral.

I so enjoyed her stories of yesteryears when I started to quilt. What an amazing lady and an amazing life. She left a great legacy for all.

Annie was a much loved lady for many years at Nobleton United church. Our condolences to the family. Rest in peace Annie….Gary & Sylvia White

Condolences to the Hill family.

For me growing up in the 1950’s and 1960’s, Annie is remembered as a constant and significant presence at all Nobleton community events, including but not limited to the Church. My Mom and Art were first cousins and so one of the disadvantages of being related (even distantly) to half the town was that you needed to mind your P & Q around people that knew your Mother. And Annie was prepared to speak her mind so behaving while in her sight was prudent.

Living for 105 years is an incredible accomplishment. She has earned her rest in eternity.

Truly an amazing, beautiful lady. Rest In Peace Annie.

I have just learned of Annie Hill’s passing , information from Ed Hilliard with whom I’ve recently connected.
When my parents and I moved into our home on Janet Ave. in 1959, Annie Hill was the first person to welcome us. She continued to be a friendly and generous spirited neighbour throughout the years we were there. Annie Hill was a model of the best qualities of her generation.
May her memory be a blessing.
