I think it was quite a shock for her when Lorraine first introduced me to Anne but she welcomed me with open arms. She proved herself to be a wonderful mother and mother-in-law and grandmother. None of the mother-in-law cliches applied to Anne. She was always willing to help even if it meant feeding our whole crew when we were building our house. She had a great life and can move forward now with no regrets. Condolences to her family and her innumerable friends.

Some of my best memories are with Anne. Going to see her as a kid was something I always looked forward to and that never changed. Her reactions to me playing piano for her always made me feel good and she always had a smile on her face whenever she saw me. I will miss her so much.

To the Doherty Family,
Please accept my condolence on the loss of your mom Anne. She was a beautiful lady and kind hearted. The Doherty family name is very familiar to the local parishioners of St. Johns Church in Albion and my family (O’Donnell) from St. Patrick’s in Wildfield. I fondly remember Fred and Anne Doherty from my days in Wildfield. And I certainly remember Lorraine and Mr. Radke as teachers some time back when I was at Holy Family School.

I’m saddened to hear of Anne’s passing and my sincere condolences to all of her family. The heavens have gain another angel this day. Many warm hugs to all.

I remember the first time Jo-Anne took me home to meet her family. Anne immediately made me feel welcome. She was happy to have one more mouth to feed and would always make one of my favourite meals when she knew I was coming for a visit. One time I complimented the beef heart she made, and I think she served it the next four times we visited.

I only recall her being mad at me one time. That was the day that I proposed to Jo-Anne and it was only because she thought that it meant that we would be getting married that summer. Once we told her that the wedding would be the following summer, all was good.

There are so many fond memories. She loved to show off Brian’s photos, attend Nicholas’ piano recitals, and encourage Elizabeth’s creativity by saving her buttons, stickers and the like. And she loved Black Forest Cake for her birthday.

I am going to miss her loving smile.

Dear Joanne, Steve, Ray, Mike and Tom and all the Doherty family.
Aunt Anne was “one of a kind” and always had amusing stories to share of her family. She was so proud of all of you and her grandchildren.
I enjoyed the frequent lunches, often organized by Anne and Betty, especially after our mom, Mary, passed away almost 29 years ago. Some of the other aunts and uncles and cousins would be included The menu wasn’t complete without pickled beets and either a poppy seed cake or a carrot cake.
This is my favourite photo of the 3 oldest girls in the family of 13, Mary, Betty and Anne. It was taken in April 1946 when they were exploring the big city of Toronto.
To be sure there has been a huge Krauskopf / Doherty family reunion taking place in Heaven, as Anne was welcomed into their embrace.

I have many fond memories of Fred, Anne and the farm. My family spent a lot of Sundays there. Lorraine and her pony were a big draw for me as a child. I remember the epic meals…I used to badger my mom to serve “farm” meals…big bowls heaped with food being passed around. Anne was probably my moms best friend..they met in the early fifties. Fred and Anne were my sisters godparents. I will remember Anne as a woman with a lot of common sense and one with a great laugh. I consider myself lucky to have been part of her life.

She never spoke negatively or complained. Instead, she gave compliments and funny faces. Very polite, observant and graceful lady and it was my pleasure to have met Anne D and to have been part of her care team. Rest in peace.

I became a part of Anne’ journey as a caregiver (AHC) at Chartwell Residence. My time with her was quite brief, but it’s one that will remain with me for a longtime. I truly enjoyed the time spent her. I just wished I had met her earlier…
