Gibson Anne Web

Anne Marie Gibson (nee Heslin), age 58, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 21, 2021. Anne was born March 23, 1963 in Toronto, Ontario to her loving parents Elizabeth (Betty) and Michael Heslin. She married Tim Gibson her high school sweetheart, best friend and the love of her life on April 30, 1988. She was the beloved mother of Ryan and Adam and grandmother to Amaya and Avaya. She loved each of them with her whole heart.

Anne was happiest when she was surrounded with friends, family and nature. She was a self taught gourmet chef and loved to entertain and cook for everyone around her, usually with organic garlic and vegetables from her own garden.

Her love of travel with Tim, family and friends was essential to her life and included excursions across Canada, Europe and Australia.  The warmer the destination the better. One of her special places was the family cottage in Mactier where you would find her swimming, kayaking or relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine in her hand.

Anne was truly a generous soul and always thought of others before herself. Birthday and Christmas presents had to be just right and were purchased months in advance.  Her years of volunteering and working at Matthews House Hospice are just one example of how she lived her life.

Anne was a cherished sister and sister-in-law to Mary and Dan Anscomb, Donna and Jim Bottrell, Carol and Doug Leigh, Darren and Ronni Gibson.  Beloved daughter-in-law of Jack and Lenore Gibson. Adored aunt of Leigh, Jacqueline, Thomas and Rebecca Joyce, Emily and Sarah Bottrell, Nathan and Sophie Leigh, and Kara and Reid Gibson. All of whom she loved deeply and who will never forget Crazy Aunt Annie.

Anne was a small person with a giant personality. She was the embodiment of laughter and strength and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who had the joy to know her.

Cremation has taken place.

Interment will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, 11:00 am at Morningside Cemetery, 384 Pine Ave, Palgrave, ON L7E 3K9. All are welcome.

A celebration of life will be held afterward at Hockley Valley Resort, 793522 Mono 3rd Line, Mono, ON L9W 5X7

Proof of vaccination will be required for the celebration at Hockley Valley Resort.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matthews House Hospice www.matthewshousehospice.ca. When making your donation, please make a note in the comment section the donation is in memory of Anne Gibson.

To dearest Tim and Family,
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beautiful Canadian friend Annie. We first met Annie on what was to be one of her many trips to Australia, in the mid 1990’s, through her special friend Kerry. Annie was always full of life and seeking adventure. She introduced us to her famous Caesar salad which was a first for us in Australia at that time and in return she discovered our famous Red Rooster chips. Apparently there was never a time or meal that didn’t go well with Red Rooster chips. Her love of life was truly infectious. Our thoughts are with all that loved her for the amazing and inspirational person she was. RIP beautiful Annie.

Anne was a lovely ,gregarious, fun loving person who put a smile on everyone’s face. She was fun to be with, and an inspiration for all who knew her.
Anne had more than her share of hardships handed to her in life but managed them all with the enthusiasm she had for life. She will forever be an inspiration for those who knew her and were lucky enough to be in her company.
We love you Anne and will always miss you and never forget you. Our deepest condolences to Tim ,Ryan,Adam and all your family
