So sorry to hear of my sister Anne’s passing. I will miss her greatly. She was always fun to be with and kept me entertained whenever l was able to spend time with her. I hope that all the special memories you have with Anne will live in your hearts.

Condolence from Ronald and Claire MacLean on November 7th, 2016 3:27 pm

Very sorry to hear of Aunt Annie’s passing. She was a great person, and the last time she visited with Mary at the bungalow in Big Pond, Cape Breton , they had a lot of laughs. In fact she was able to welcome our grand daughter Anna on the day she was born while she was there. Mary was so fond of her and I hope they are having a few good times together now!

Condolence from Michael J Kolanko son of Tony and Catherine on November 7th, 2016 4:19 pm

We are very sorry to hear of Aunt Annie’s passing. It was only last week we were talking about Dad’s brothers and sisters. Dad (Tony) was always very proud and loyal to his family. We were so excited to see Annie when she visited Cape Breton a few years ago. Her, Mary and Blanche laughed so much, it was great to experience that with them. Certainly a lot of love that the miles didn’t take from them. We hope your sadness is soon replaced by fond memories. Our deepest condolences.

Condolence from Jody MacLean, granddaughter of Mary on November 7th, 2016 6:44 pm

I’m very sorry to hear of Aunt Annie’s death. Her visits to Big Pond will always be a happy memory for me. She and Blanche and my grandmother had so many laughs together whenever they got together. I’m so glad we got to see her the last time she was in Cape Breton, the summer my Anna was born. We actually ran into her at the hospital that day.

Condolence from Donnie and Betsy Jardine on November 8th, 2016 5:16 am

We were sad to hear the news of Aunt Annie’s passing. Her name brought excitement. I recall as a little girl in Heatherton, she stopped on her way to Cape Breton. She had brought new dresses with crinolines that were very fancy for us country girls and we were thrilled to have these generous gifts arrive from the big city of Toronto. Annie was recently telling mom that she planned to return to Cape Breton. She certainly has done so in spirit as we read these messages of all her trips in the past. One not very long ago. We are grateful to Sharon and all those who have taken such wonderful care of Annie. She would not have achieved her 90th this past year without all this love and care!
Our thoughts are with you all!
Love Donnie and Betsy Jardine

Condolence from Jean Chisholm on November 9th, 2016 7:23 pm

So sorry to hear about Anne ‘s passing. She was a wonderful person. I remember the summer the Annie and her three remaining siblings decided to travel to Newfoundland and Labrador. They all stayed with me in Grand Falls-Windsor. I was amazing to see them altogether, Nellie, Joe and Cam, Annie, Mary and my mother, Blanche all chauffeured in a Black Suburban van by Leo Mourbourquette. The had a marvellous time. I took them to visit the Salmon Ladder where we all went on a nature walk. I was amazed that Annie could name all the wild flowers we encountered. I was so happy to have the chance to host them all together on their last trip together. I hope that your memories of Anne will bring you peace and comfort.

Condolence from Bobby Kolanko (son of Anne’s brother Tony) on November 10th, 2016 9:35 pm

So sad to hear of Anne’s passing. She was a special lady who was proud of her family and loved to keep in touch with her roots on the east coast. We will miss her dearly. Sincerest condolences to our family in ontario.
